It's been a long, long, long week since I first set sail for the Gold Coast, bright-eyed with high hopes for what is known as 'Schoolies.' All started well, that is until I actually left my house late, arrived at the airport late and somehow ended up on the Gold Coast; without my luggage. So there I was on a 30 degree day wearing tight jeans and a massive t-shirt. So yeah, bit of this, bit of that; the club 'Bedroom' smelled like feet, and everyone seemed to be home and in bed by 2:30am. Yet this did [...]
Mixmag Presents - Kissy Sell Out's Xmas Blowout (alt) 01. [...]

[There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.] So ran into frogs on the weekend and got chatting, turns out he worked on the Art vs Science ' Parlez-Vous Francias ' clip, you know with the two mimes ratting on each other. Another interesting piece he put together was a look at the photographers behind the american b/w zine Hamburger Eyes . A curious watch. Ubbs

Art vs Science are "here to remind us that creating dance music is not just about bass-blowing electro-rock anthems; rather it's about taking those songs and in a live forum setting everyone's fire-retardant dancing kicks ablaze. If you walk away from an Art vs Science live show without an altered gait and/or state-of-mind, you were clearly not paying attention". They've got a touch of the Prodigy and also MGMT to them - check out the MP3 to their song "Parlez-Vous Francais?", and the video below featuring a [...]

ART VS SCIENCE's Debut film clip. Director; Alex Roberts.

Art vs Science isn't here to get a haircut. They're here to melt your mind! They're also here to remind us that creating dance music is not just about bass-blowing electro-rock anthems (of which they have many); rather it's about taking those songs and in a live forum setting everyone's fire-retardant dancing kicks ablaze. If you walk away from an Art vs Science live show without an altered gait and/ or state-of-mind, you were clearly not paying attention. Art vs Science's self-titled EP will core-drill itself into you mind and possess it with its [...]
Aussie band Art vs Science have one simple question: "Parlez-Vous Francais?" Their pounding, high energy electro-rock track "Parlez-Vous Francais?" has all the ingredients to get stuck in your head. Take a listen with a free download! In their native country of Australia, the band's self-titled EP has already garnered them a 2009 ARIA Award (think Grammy) nomination in the Breakthrough Artist category.

It seems the new talk of Electronica town is Art vs. Science. So after hearing their track, Parlez Vous Francais? on the J's I found myself humming the tune while looking for music in JB and subsequently purchased the EP, much to my surprise. Now I don't really think of myself as a massive fan of electronic music, but I do own a small collection of the music that I consider interesting enough to stick on my Ipod. Although Midnight Juggernauts are on my Ipod too and I have no idea why as their [...]

photo: underbellyltd Hadn't heard of Art Vs. Science before the other day when I got their latest EP. I didn't know what to expect (just thought it might be good so got it) but was pleasantly surprised, quite an enjoyable EP on the whole. My favourite track is by far 'Hollywood' (just found out its actually been outfor like a year, but still), great guitar and drums with an electro-ness that reminds me of The Whip's stuff. Rest of the EP is quite light-hearted and amusing but yeah, this is by far my favourite [...]

ART vs SCIENCE - Parlez-vous francais? (Hey Now remix)

It seems that another Wednesday has come and gone, and it is time for yet another Hey Now post! On behalf of Hey Now and Deckhead we do apologize for missing last weeks post, but the boys started their tour with Grafton Primary so things were a bit busy, now they are back in Sydney we are able to deliver two fresh new tracks. A few months ago the boys were approached by Art Vs Science to remix their latest track. For the people out there who are living under a rock Art Vs [...]

Before I say anything I would just like to say a big thank you to Adso - I have not only really appreciated your posts but I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one, as I am sure everyone else has. Lets continue: I have just come out of a very depressing time of my life and I feel that you are the only people I can speak to. It was a time of confusion, sorrow, insecurity and most of all disappointment in myself. I am talking about the quarter life music crisis I found myself in since my [...]

Every time i hear a new indie band with a fresh sound i get a warm feeling in my loins. Especially if they're hungry Australian up-and-comers. I felt this way when i heard We Say Bamboulée on FBi last week. They're a three-piece from the Blue Mountains and Windsor on the outskirts of greater western Sydney. The band is Russell and Peter Fitzgibbon (basketballers) and Doug Wright (synths) making sounds like a Richard In Your Mind and Radiohead cocktail. Their cheese-inspired pop music ranges from the upbeat, soaring harmonies of [...]
