Although they never reached commercial success (or indie recognition), Hum were one of the best rock bands of the late 90's. They were a tight band full of feedback, drone and pounding rhythms. Their style was unique and widely overlooked. 1997's Downward Is Heavenward was their masterpiece, a genuine lost classic. The track, Afternoon With The Axolotls , is a "large" song full of feedback and drums with the vocals weaving between the two. If you don't own a copy of this album, you are missing out greatly.
