The Asteroid's Galaxy Tour (once again) rocked their performance in NYC and played at the Irving Plaza. It wasn't too long ago where they played at the Bowery Ballroom. There were several similarities within the shows: the size of the venue, the wooden floors were shaking from the uncontrollable movements of the crowd, Mette was stunning as always, and their standout jazzy tones captured the audience's heart. The one major difference was that they just released their new album, Out of Frequency, that day. We were all in for one big surprise…. They opened with a [...]

The Asteroid Shop's self-titled debut was released back in October and comes off as a journey through the distance with song and low key atmosphere. Get a little more acquainted in real time with a listen to "Dandelion" . http://www.theasteroidshop.com / https://www.facebook.com/theas teroidshop

"This Distance" is the gorgeous debut single from London-based trio Asteroids . The single is coming out on December 12th on Fields, backed with remixes by the likes of DiskJokke, Lauer and Deadstock 33s, aka Justin Robertson. Watch the video, directed by Aoise Tutty, above and check out DiskJokke's take on the track below: This Distance (DiskJokke Remix) by asteroids
A great rainy-day record. Hazy dream-pop lives on. The Asteroid Shop is a gauzy, hazy slab of pop-rock goodness that roars-dreamily-out of your speakers in a way that's almost comforting. There isn't much about the band that's especially new, but sometimes familiarity breeds not contempt, but appreciation. That's certainly the case here. Opening track "Destroyer" is among the album's most raucous, built up from layers of guitar distortion, while "Planetary" takes an initially more placid turn before erupting into an unexpected but welcome...
Danish group the Asteroids Galaxy Tour played their single 'Major' to a rammed Bowery Ballroom in New York City early last month. You can watch the video below and feel like you were part of the audience. The band's second album, 'Out of Frequency', has a planned early 2012 release. Click here to view the embedded video.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour song "Major" promises exactly what the band name implies; music delivered directly from the cosmos. Your auditory adventure begins with opening beats suggestive of a 70s space odyssey TV show. From there singer Mette Lindberg's unique baby voiced beltings (backed by a big band sound) grab hold as together you blast forward fueled by high energy funk. Simply put, "Major" is a song worthy of embedding on your MySpace page – if you still had one. - krissi lindsey / krissi.lindsey@yahoo.com / @ohnomisskris [...]

We attended Day 3 and Day 4 of Filter Magazine's Culture Collide Festival. Below is my Day 4 review featuring The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Hypernova and Datarock. We got there at about 5:45 and immediately walked around and just took in all the stuff going on, which including trying out the [...]
NICK LOWE, JD MCPHERSON ( Aladdin Theater , 3017 SE Milwaukie) I do not believe in Jesus of Nazareth, but I most certainly believe in the Jesus of Cool . Nick Lowe is power pop's silver panther, the unflappable and infinitely hip elder statesman who, with his snowy swath of white hair and dapper outfits, has aged all too well. Three decades after Jesus of Cool (or, Pure Pop for Now People for us Yanks) appeared on turntables the world over, Lowe is still doing what he does best. On this [...]

Danish pop band the Asteroids Galaxy Tour have recently announced their follow-up to 20092s "Fruit." Slated for a January, 2012 release, "Out of Frequency" will continue inviting listeners to go beyond their 2008 hit song "Around the Bend." Making the wise decision to stick with their eclectic hybrid of jazz, soul and rock, the Asteroids Galaxy Tour producer (and band member) Lars Iversen has somehow managed to take the blend of retro and futuristic big band arrangements and tighten their style. The horn section blares and beckons while vocalist Mette Lindberg seductively croons on new their new single [...]

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing the Asteroids Galaxy Tour play a show at Bowery Ballroom. What I totally didn't expect, was to fall in love with their opener, She Keeps Bees. A trio I had never heard of, and instantly remembered because of their unique name and 60s retro rock sound, (reminiscent of a bad ass chick singer version of The Black Keys), I was blown away. The lead singer was a swaggy, long-haired chick by the name of Jessica Larrabee, and by the time their set was over, I was both sad and totally in the [...]

Estamos [...]
Is it Justice ? Isn't it justice? Who know's? Well…everybody, it is Justice reMixing the new The Asteroids Galaxy Tour track. I swear when Justice's new album is released there will be people, with a physical copy in their hands, saying, "there's no way this is Justice!". Whist not a huge Justice banger, you can hear Gaspard & Xavier's DNA running through this mix, especially on the bass. This is a funky little groover and I expect to find more than a couple of tracks like this on Justice's new album. [...]

Detektiivitöö näitab, et kaks aastat ja poolteist kuud on möödunud ajast, mil The Asteroids Galaxy Tour viimati siin blogis sõna sai. Selle looga muidugi . Nüüd on need vahvad taanlased tagasi, bravuuri ja pasunatega. Veebruaris album uus. The Asteroids Galaxy Tour - Major ( mp3 )
