C'est avec les doigts gelés que je tape ce post, le réchauffement climatique ? My ass ! On répond quand même présent avec une nouvelle micro-mini sélection qui vous réchauffera surement. > MSTRKRFT - Bounce Ft. N.O.R.E. (Felix Cartal Remix) > Aston Shuffle Feat Tommie Sunshine - Stomp Yo Shoes (Shazam Remix)

The Aston Shuffle are two Australian dudes who know how to make some good electronic music. They've been remixed by some of my favorite artists, remixed some of my favorite songs, and it all sounds great. For a while I had only heard remixes by them, but there originals are my favorite. They really have a great sound. Not so crazy that it'll give you a headache or anything, but not too soft either. Here's my favorite original of theirs, and I guess I wasn't the only one who liked it cause it got some awesome remixers. [...]

Everyone, well almost everyone, likes to dance and sing - even if they only dance with the door closed, or sing in the shower when no one's home. That's why I've put together a post with some songs you can sing, and some songs you can dance to. Putin, Vlad - Favourite Song: 'Georgia on my Mind' by Ray Charles Great New(ish) Songs for you to Sing (or hum) to. *RIGHT CLICK FILE NAME, THEN PRESS 'SAVE AS' [...]

well i set out to only post shazam's new aston shuffle remix when i heard he finished it. of course aleks has already had all the bases covered , but then i was going thru my library of his previous work and remembered 'oh i like that one. and that one. ohhhh can't leave out that one.' people, don't sleep on this guy. he may be layin low in perth, but i love this track. it's sound is tucked nicely between indie electro and neu-disco, has some perfectly placed filters and choppy melodies. [...]

Hostage est de retour pour nous massacrer la geule (comme d'hab vous me direz ^^). Quand à Shazam il nous livre un bon gros remix house à l'ancienne bien frais. Hostage - Hoot ( ShareBee ) The Ashton Shuffle - Stomp Yo Shoes (Shazam Remix) ( ShareBee )

It's quite strange, and to a certain extent, sad, that the fresh, hard-hitting, revolution-starting electro of only a year and a half or so ago has so quickly turned on itself. Nearly everything that, in the beginning, assisted the style in its rise to fame has essentially become it's enemy. Blazing, distorted synths and an overall crunchy sound (perhaps the most prominent facets of the genre) have become a cliche, and despite that fact that last year was praised as "the best year in electro since 19983, the people who are dropping the heaviest beats at this point [...]

Australia's secret weapon in the electro war of '08 is back. Shazam the almighty, bitches. This kid is so good it's frightening. After that phenomenal remix of Sweaty, it'd seem as though peeps are pricking their ears up to his slick disco sounds, with the Emergency and now the Aston Shuffle knocking at his door for some remixes. And he sure as hell kicks the Bloody Beetroots' masked-arses on this one. The Aston Shuffle - Stomp Yo Shoes (Shazam Remix) [ ZS ] [ YS ] Shazzy [...]
Hello, my name is...
XLR8R just posted a nice little mix from The Bloody Beetroots and it nearly disabled my speakers. It's pretty loud. From XLR8R: Hailing from Italy, The Bloody Beetroots are currently making gritty music for dirty dance floors worldwide, with performances booked in three different continents over the next few months. Despite a busy schedule of rocking parties and swigging Grappa, the Marvel-masked duo found time to cook up a mini-mix of their latest tracks and remixes for the XLR8R podcast. The eight tracks here include reworkings of MSTRKRFT's "Bounce" and Cabaret Voltaire's "Sensoria," as well [...]

MP3: Crookers - The Crow MP3: The Aston Shuffle - Stomp Yo (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)
Last Thursday, Flufftronix was in town spinning over at Debonair for their esteemed Fly By Night parties that they throw, and in the midst of his set was this little gem that I've never gotten around to posting. It's the "NY Excuse" classic by Soulwax, reworked with the "Funky Town" beat behind it and labeled [...]

ok so here is the LOVE that was promised. bask. for me, growing up in canberra was a pretty boring experience. whenever we recieved word that someone good was playing it always a pretty big thing.. there were only 4 local djs that ever excited me- pred from lot, stunami , and vance musgrove and mikah freeman.. AKA the ASTON SHUFFLE . from humble beginnings the Aston Shuffle have now nearly taken over the world.. you might know them from their chuggtastic remix of Claude Von Stroke's 'The Whistler', or from [...]

Photo courtesy of mushroom_and_rooster on Flickr Aston Shuffle - For Everyone (Malente Remix) I love Australia. And it's not because they have billboards like this up in Melbourne or because the Aussie hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Nolita, Ruby's , has amazing coffee and the highest number of Ksubi clad patrons I'll see on any given day. Nope, it's because of the frequency of delightful exports like this one from Hussle 'N' Bussle . Aston Shuffle's [...]

photo: Jack Walsh While we were excitedly discussing our Big Day Out plans the other day, my mate Jack made me promise to forego aussie rock stalwarts Silverchair in favour of new-ish rockers Battles. At the time, I wasn't so sure about this promise, as I hadn't really heard much of their stuff (other than their song 'Ddiamondd' that i had picked up somewhere along the way). To make me feel better he gave me a copy of their CD 'Mirrored'. It is awesome. I am now glad that i [...]
Its only 11 sleeps until Ministry Of Sound Annual All Day Outdoor Festival @ Supreme Court Gardens to launch off our Summer festival season (I know Parlife but that was Spring). And, as I'm aiming to do for all the festivals this summer, I thought I'd throw together a Mix Ceedee of all the artists involved in the festi'. It is a good lineup for MOS and I'm particualrly looking forward to seeing Bookashade for the first time and Midnight Juggernauts again (As is evident from the doubles on the Ceedee.) Without [...]
