No Oscars for these jock-bags. 1. Brian Bosworth, "Stone Cold" Stunt coordinator Craig Baxley ("Predator," "Dukes of Hazzard") directed this 1991 vigilante forgettable that was probably a white supremacist's wet dream of a b-movie. A male stripper cop (The Boz) goes undercover to kick the asses of a biker gang led by actor Lance Henriksen, who, says Time Out London , "steals the movie from under Bosworth's nose." 2. Michael Jordan, [...]

NBA star Jason Collins made headlines on Monday for coming out as the first openly gay male athlete to be an active player in one of North America's four major sports leagues. Which is freaking awesome. As a tribute, let's take a look at some of the LGBT pioneers in American athletics. 1. Billie Jean King Billie Jean King, the former Grand Slam tennis player who famously beat Bobby Riggs in the famous "Battle of The Sexes" games, was the first prominent [...]
Wednesday's game was a game where you say "well, a win is a win." Not pretty by any means, but the Red Sox ended up winning their second rubber match of the season. Here are the four bases: First Base: Right when Coco Crisp lead off the game with a walk, it was evident that Jon Lester did not have the right stuff today. Six walks and three earned runs, both a season high, does not look pretty, but worse is the 115 pitches through 5 2/3 [...]
The Red Sox resilience struck again after being swept in yesterday's double header against the Kansas City Royals. The Oakland Athletics got down early thanks to a Mike Napoli grand salami, and the bullpen was able to (somehow) conjure just enough to ward off the A's counter punch. Here are the four bases: First Base: Mike Napoli offense has turned eyes, especially on his fourth career grand slam tonight, along with his 25 RBI in 19 games, which is best in baseball. But what about his defense? Once thought as a [...]

Looks like OK Go have some competition with this brilliantly engineered series of stunts with some incredibly gifted athletes, check it out! Song: Soul Wars by AWOLNATION

By Robert Freeman September 24, 2012 Permanently becaptacled James Yorkston writes interesting and strange songs that weave the personal with the anecdotal, oral tradition*, and so-called ‘tall tales.’ Yorkston is a product of his environment, fashioning beautiful pop music out of the landscape of the sea, the mist and the tides. As a live act he succeeds in balancing the sombre and personal with an irreverence and humour that is truly endearing. Yorkston has been known to wrong-foot interviewers by claiming roots in Scottish punk (pre-Fence) [...]
True fans of music spend countless hours searching for that next great song, album or artist, whether it be online or in a local record shop. The beautiful thing about music in today’s age is that technology has created an infinite supply of great music that is available to us at the click of a mouse. How perfect is that? We can discover a brand new artist on the opposite side of the globe in seconds without a radio or a music television channel. It only makes sense that a website so dedicated to this gorgeous universe of music would [...]
Proving we only have to care about these people for two weeks every four years.
Filed under: The Hit List Getty Images With the London Olympics kicking off, there's going to be plenty of hubbub about who's performing what at the opening and closing ceremonies. While that's all well and good, we thought it was more interesting to look at which musicians could hold their own in an athletic event. It turns out that there are quite a few artists who can run, throw, hit, kick and, yes, fence just as [...]
![Nike: Find Your Greatness [Video]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4411150_lg.jpg)
Nike really does it with these commercials though. Greatness isn't reserved for the chosen few in one special city, it can also be found in London, Ohio, and London, Norway, and East London, South Africa, and Little London, Jamaica, and Small London, Nigeria and the London Hotel and London Road and anywhere else someone is trying to find it.

‘Take care of one’s self’.

Camp America's Intuition & Dreams released a month ago without our noticing. For shame. What's alluring could be tracks like "Any Kind of Pulse", which strings the electronic prowess of Camp America's sole proprietor Steven Cowley with the smooth vocals of Athlete's Joel Potts The project of Cowley really deserves more attention since he's not just a bedroom pop artist as he's also collaborated with artists such as Bloc Party's guitarist Russell Lissack and Paper Route's JT Daly. This is all just the tip of the iceberg for Camp America though. The Rustington, UK artist released [...]

The 2012 Olympic Games in London will no doubt be one of the year's most exciting events, but the journey to the games as an athlete is no walk in the park. In their new video for "The Fighter" , their new Ryan Tedder -featuring single from The Papercut Chronicles II, Gym Class Heroes showcase the physical and emotional struggle and quest for glory of 19-year-old athlete John Orozco as he trains for the games. In the inspirational clip, the hip-pop group performs inside a gymnasium as we see the Bronx-born, [...]

This week, Shaquille O'Neal will receive a doctoral degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. O'Neal has earned his degree in organizational learning and leadership, which took him four years to finish. By the time he finished his program, O'Neal had taken 16 classes, earned 54 credits and earned a 3.8 GPA. The basketball star's doctoral dissertation was titled "How Leaders Utilize Humor or Seriousness in Leadership Roles," which is a very appropriate topic considering O'Neal is well-known for his sense of humor and has become a sort of unofficial leader in the sports industry. [...]
Not exactly breaking news that I won't be going to SXSW this year...either! I really wish I was (like I always do), because that way the hundreds of emails coming my way promotion various showcases at said festival could perhaps be of some use. Instead I've spent the past 6 months preparing for a Marathon , so on Friday March 16 I'll be flying to Rome (that's the capital of Italy , if you somehow ignorantly thought I was thinking of any [...]
