This is the hundredth post on this blog. It means that we so far have presented ninetynine artists, songwriters and producers. We thought of celebrating this by having a mini cavalcade with songs from some of the artists we have reviewed. Many of these songs are exclusive for download only here on Meadowmusic, and I hope that they are shared with people all over the world if you as a visitor like the songs. We, here on Meadowmusic, are overwhelmed by all the support we have received since we started in the beginning of July. We started this [...]

The producer Some people may know him as Jonas Wickman, others as Bordun. When I first came in contact with his music and his production, it was like living on a flat earth and suddenly realise that it's actually a globe. Jonas' strange sound landscapes and emotional dimensions, opened me up and confronted me. Maybe not so much the music itself, but the feelings that grew inside when I listened; I was at the same time freightened and fascinated. And I believe this is Jonas' strength; the buildup of emotional atmospheres. He says that he has [...]

The word master Hello all publishers! I SAID: -HELLO ALL PUBLISHERS!!! You have missed a sweet little pea here. A lyricist of absolute world class. Niklas Aurgrunn is his name. Remember that name, or pick up the phone right now. I say it only once, read my lips: - Niklas Aurgrunn is one of the best Swedish lyricists. In this post I will try to emphasise the importance of writing good lyrics. Many tries, some have the gift, and others like Niklas are outstanding. He's not only shaping some words, ready for delivery. His words [...]

Do you feel your thoughts are gathering speed, inventing more and more stories about the future and the past, slowly building up to anxiety? Well here's a remedy that could work: Find a comfortable armchair, sit down, close your eyes, breathe deeply and listen to "Not Your Child" first, and then "In Your Arms" and why not the entire album "Wash Away the Past" which Karl invites you to download for free. Karl is sometimes called a Swedish Peter Gabriel , and partly this is how I hear it also, as he sometimes [...]

All artists presented in here are songwriters and composers also performing their products. Tobbe Möller is a songwriter and a composer who's performing solely for practical reasons, as he puts it. There's something special about Tobbe Möller, something supernatural, maybe even godlike! He may for real be the best songwriter in the world, but I'm not sure he's aware himself. I see Tobbe like a fairy dressed in an armour you don`t easily penetrate. But just as Tinkerbell sprinkles river glitter (or whatever) over people in need, he does the same for his tunes. [...]

About voices then. There are singers you admire and who impress you by their sheer power and/or range, and/or technique - the vibrato, that awesome wailing...but whom you never quite manage to embrace because they lack something else, something less easy to define, if it's not simply enough the feeling I'm fumbling for, it's as if they know better than most how to do it but never really grasped the why , so to speak ( Whitney Houston , Celine Dion , Carola , Tommy Körberg , although these examples are only [...]

"Nu vaggas tång av gammal dyning" ("Now seaweed is rocked by old swell", or something to that effect)... Equality from Linköping is generally curious and boundless as they say, with a catalogue playing rather furiously with the "genres" but right here&now I`m really just hungup on this little one. Perfect swedish kind of jazzy ballad like a brittler and more intimate and also funkier Staffan Percy...I thought at first, before realizing that despite of all the well administered and managed heritage he's of course completely his own. Summer contemplation de luxe! "Rain rain washing the salt from my wound..." [...]
Because of the southern dialect, and maybe to some extent the voice too, he often brings the great late rocker/protest singer Björn Afzelius to mind but is really something quite different, one of the closer voices on the web actually, a kind of quiet flasher without grand airs nor poses but with a tone apparently so sincere and honest it makes it's way straight through the waxplugs, he's about words poking among themselves looking for one or the other context or connection, and words finding quite a lot. He's the definition of nice in my dictionary, and behold [...]
