It took a while, aka six years, but Los Angeles based trio Autolux is finally ready to release its sophomore studio album. Due for release on August 3rd via TBD Records in North America and Japan, and ATP Recordings everywhere else, Transit Transit promises to be a "deep and profound world in which to immerse yourself." So what's that mean? Well, an issued press releases uses descriptions like "utterly unique concussion of rhythm," "organic futurism," and "propulsive grooves and atmospheric chord changes." And continuing with the out-of-this world description is [...]

Autolux are to make their long awaited, and much anticipated, return with a new album. Called Transit Transit it will be released on August 2nd via ATP Recordings. Autolux (Carla Azar: vocals/drums, Greg Edwards: vocals/guitar. and Eugene Goreshter: vocals/bass) produced Transit Transit themselves with Edwards serving as engineer. It was recorded in the band's studio, Space 23, located near downtown Los Angeles. Transit Transit track listing: 1. Transit Transit 2. Census 3. Highchair 4. Supertoys 5. Spots 6. Autolux has finally announced a release date for their upcoming album, Transit Transit. August 3, 2020 2010. (Amazon.co.uk has the release date listed as July 26, 2010)
Color me speechless. It was just announced through a MySpace bulletin. Will they actually stick to this release date? Who the hell knows but may I say ... FREAKIN' FINALLY! Bookmark This :

Filed under: News , Video , New Music , Exclusive If you watched the video preview for UNKLE 's upcoming album, 'Where Did the Night Fall' that Spinner ran last week, you'll recall that this album is going to be unlike anything the group has released in the past. It's a whole new chapter for UNKLE and, fittingly, they invited along an array of special guests and conspirators to celebrate the affair. As founding member James Lavelle explains to Spinner, while he enjoys good [...]

I'm in the desert this weekend for Coachella . If you're in Los Angeles, you have plenty of reasons to leave the house, including Autolux (Friday at the Bootleg), the Swedish duo jj [pictured], who are performing at the Echoplex on Saturday, and Love Is All , who are the Echo on Sunday. For a rundown of other L.A. gigs, visit our friends at You Set the Scene . Bookmark It [...]

G is for Goldenvoice. G is for all the grousing I heard about the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival lineup when it was announced three months ago (all but silenced now). G is for all the grumbling about the festival's new policy to not sell one-day passes (still hearing that). And G is for gee whiz, despite its detractors, the damned thing sold out — the number of three-day passes I heard was 75,000. Coachella 2010 kicks off Friday with quite possibly its deepest lineup ever, with a smattering of rock stars, a [...]

[Happy tax day. How many of you are spending your return on Coachella?] They've escaped Orange County for the friendly confines of NYC, but the Willowz are fondly remembered here. Their latest album "Everyone" came out in December (and maybe got lost in the pre-holiday shuffle), and it's a howling-good collection of punky psych-rock that should have made them stars by now. [That's Kaylie Schiff's video for the album's title track, above.] The quartet plays Spaceland tonight in one of the better T'was-the-Night-Before-Coachel la shows. [...]

Pavement Play the Fox on Thursday and Coachella on Sunday Last week I saw the first night of Helen Stellar's residency. They're sounding really good these days. On Thursday night, I saw The Minor Canon's last show before an extended "hiatus" and they sounded great. Then on Friday I went to see the Knux at Spaceland. High energy good times and a different vibe inside Spaceland. Even if you're skipping Coachella this year, some great shows throughout the week... [...]

Autolux , the always-compelling and sometimes-mysterious L.A. art rock trio, have signed to TBD Records, which will release their long-awaited sophomore album "Transit Transit." An announcement on the band's website says the release date has not yet been decided, but the band has booked a show on April 16 at the Bootleg Theater . That's the day before Autolux is scheduled to open for Thom Yorke's band at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Outside the U.S., "Transit Transit," the band's first album since 2004's "Future Perfect," will be released on ATO. ||| Previously: [...]

Could the long wait finally be over? I hear that L.A. art-rock trio Autolux is close to signing a deal and that the album "Transit Transit" will be released this summer. It would be the first album from Eugene Goreshter, Carla Azar and Greg Edwards since "Future Perfect" in 2004. ☛ Castledoor plays its final show with its current lineup tonight at Spaceland. Frontman Nate Cole announced Sunday via the band's blog that longtime bandmates Gabe and Coury Combs would [...]

UNKLE is ready to follow up 2008's End Titles... Stories for Film with an album heavy in buzzworthy collaborations. The London trip-hop outfit led by James Lavelle is noted for collabs (Thom Yorke, Josh Homme, Brian Eno), and the new album, Where Did the Night Fall , features some of their more interesting ones yet. Pet Exclaim , UNKLE teamed up with former Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age vocalist Mark Lanegan, as well as neo-psychedelic groups like Sleepy Sun and The Black Angels. Lavelle and co. are also bringing back [...]

Six years have elapsed since Autolux's last album's release (which apparently went under the radar as it " never had much support behind it "), but Future Perfect still feels exciting. This lasting interest likely has a lot to do with the fact that this Californian trio takes influence from decades past and decades that haven't even elapsed yet—their sound is simultaneously before and after. It'd be just as accurate to compare the band to My Bloody Valentine as it would to conjure up elaborate conspiracy theories that they're actually a gang of robros from [...]
