This past Sunday, Avi Buffalo brought an assortment of instruments into WKNC's studios for a special acoustic performance and short interview. The band is best known for its 2010 hit, "What's In It For," and the band is once again busy at work. They've recently released a 73 featuring "How Come," a new single. Check below for their acoustic performance of this track as performed in our studios, as well as an unreleased track, "Won't Be Around No More." An interview with DJ Don of Time follows, where you can hear the band discuss touring Europe [...]

Now that last week's sweltering heat is out of the way, it's time to venture out of the AC and get your music fix. It's a solid week of indie music here in New York City with Fucked Up , Mountain Man , Eels , and Gang Gang Dance in town, but the show that stands out most to me is Avi Buffalo and Nik Freitas at Rock Shop in Brooklyn. These acts are both fantastic and the venue is tiny. Enjoy a another fantastic week [...]

Of the crowd sipping cider on the benches outside the ramshackle urban beer garden of Leeds' Brudenell Social Club, only the most attentive would have noticed the slight, lightly-bearded man leaning against a car in the background, urgently conversing in a smooth L.A. accent. Fewer still would fail to be surprised that the diminutive 20-year-old was the primary reason that the place was so busy tonight. For he is Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg, creative force behind Avi Buffalo , tonight playing one of only three headline summer UK gigs before moving on to Latitude festival [...]

Well, it's been an interesting week, involving quite a lot of work, a broken elbow and a trip to Thekla. Which would you like to hear about? I thought so… Avi Buffalo @ Thekla The aforementioned elbow, with arm in sling, meant I was feeling a bit ginger as Martin and I made our way below deck and bought drinks. We were met with the sight of Master Buffalo himself manning his own merch stall, which is kinda stirring when it's the likes of David Gedge or Laura Cantrell, but even more charming here, [...]
Tomorrow night, the lovely Avi Buffalo will be playing on the stage of La Flèche d'Or in Paris, to introduce their new sel-titled album in which they crafted wonderful pop-folk song that could be stuck in your head endlessly. We have 3x2 tickets for you, who's in?

Avi Buffalo (@avibuffalo), one of my favourite budding bands, has just released a new single and B-side track. There's no word as to whether these songs are the precursor for a future EP/LP, but given their quality, I certainly hope so. To ease the sting of waiting, I've even reverted back to their wonderful self-titled album, which they put out last spring. Both new songs feature Avi Zahner-Isenberg's signature raspy-falsetto laid over ultra-melodic guitars and plenty of synth to blend the sounds together. Though the first track, "How Come", has [...]

A very relaxing new single to help you all recover from your hangovers by Avi Buffalo, called "How Come". It's the first track released since the band's debut record, and everything seems a bit more focused. The lead vocals remain in a timid falsetto throughout, making this very pleasing to listen to. You can now purchase the 7" through Sub Pop .

Avi Buffalo just dropped a new single " How Come " on Sub Pop. Luckily, for you the MP3 format of the song is being given away for free download .

Avi Buffalo - How Come Leia Também: Of Montreal faz cover de [...]

Tweet Now come on, when you open up an email and it tells you that the music has been created "as an electronic 'thank you' card to those who have dedicated countless hours to provide an opportunity for independent music to be discovered by those who seek it out", i.e. us bloggers, then you've got to feature it surely? Well if it's absolutely dire then of course you don't. Luckily I didn't have that problem with Leann Grimes. Leann is the alter ego of Shane [...]

Hey what is up yo? Today marks the 28th day in this month of June 2011! Crazy right? I mean, before we know it... JULY is going to be here and that means staying inside your house and watching TV and playing videogames*. At least for my and my fellow Phoenicians. But for the rest of you, it's the time for pool parties BBQ's and generally having a good time. So by all means buy some Black Crowes re-issues, grab some H and party like it's 1996! * Totally already doing that BTW, it's like [...]

Avi Buffalo this month releases its first new music since the 2010 debut album that announced Avi Zahner-Isenberg as a prodigy to watch. "How Come?" is lo-fi and meditative, and, judging a recent live performance (pictured) at the Getty Center during which the Long Beach quartet played some noisy new numbers, not exactly indicative of what we might hear next. But who knows? "How Come?" is out as a 7-inch single on June 28 on Sub Pop. ||| Live: Avi Buffalo plays the FYF Fest on Sept. 3. [...]

Avi Buffalo 's self-titled debut earned the title of being my favorite album of 2010. So it's with great delight that I announce to you the release of new material from the band, that being a single called "How Come", due out on Sub Pop on June 28. The song differs a bit from Avi Buffalo . It features soft, airy vocals from the lead singer and an emphasis on dreamy organ riffs. As always, the signatures remain: highly complex songwriting [...]
