It's day one of EDC Vegas. You're feeling good, looking good, with your shirt off and a neon blue bandana tied around your head. All of the sudden there she is: Hello Kitty Backpack, body paint bikini, pink boots with the fur. She asks you for a smoke. She's from Newport Beach; you're from Costa Mesa. You talk about the line-up and in unison you both blurt out, "OMG I cant wait to see Kaskade!" And then it happens... the vibes kick in and you decide you're gonna marry this girl. Unluckily for you, EDC has made accommodations [...]

After a busy weekend for some of EDM's biggest names, we've got the first DJ to be sent to space, the premiere of the new country-inspired Avicii track, Skrillex's premiere-peppered Essential Mix , and more. Armin van Astronaut After spending his life becoming the world's most popular DJ, Armin van Buuren has reportedly set his sights on the galaxy. YourEDM reports that Armin will be one of the first 100 "founder astronauts" sent into [...]
So I generally like to consider myself a pretty progressive, open-minded individual. That being said, I do allow myself to harbor a few prejudices here and there, one of these prejudices being a strong aversion to any music remotely sounding like Country. Save for a very few number of undeniable ... Read More

Officially released today on PRMD, Avicii's country-inspired, soon-to-be-worldwide-hit Wake Me Up featuring Aloe Blacc has just hit the airwaves. Originally premiered during his set at Ultra Miami this year, the collab with the vocalist of I Need A Dollar is different to his previous pieces, but will still no doubt further indent progressive house music into the mainstream everyday listening. It was 'officially' aired for the first time 3 days ago via Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 - which can be heard below - and it's good; I like it. It's definitely not as 'hands in the air' [...]

Ok, maybe it won't take over the world like Levels did, but this is pretty infectious. Folk gone EDM? There's actually been an unfinished version of this track rolling around the internet for quite sometime, but here's the official radio single from international DJ, Avicii , as he recruits Aloe Blacc for the vocals (good choice, Tim). If anyone was wondering where I've been (this is Jordan ) the past 5-6 weeks, I've been studying abroad in Asia. Exploring the different music scenes that China, South Korea, and Japan have to offer. I'm [...]

South African EDM artists Goldfish have released a new animated video for their song “A Million Views”. It’s a Mike Scott animated, tongue-in-cheek look at the current state of EDM culture and talent. Avicii, Daft Punk, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, and Steve Angello caricatures all fall prey. The video also features a dog as a DJ (clever play on God is a DJ) and deadmaus5 as a master button pusher. Oh yeah, the key to great performances is mastering the Jesus stance and fist pump. Funny stuff. . . [...]

Ok, so we all love The Godfather (at least the first two) and Salvatore Ganacci has made a fun little house jam which samples the theme song and key dialogue. It's a total gimmick but hell that's ok, all the dudes on the dancefloor will feel like gangsters for a minute. Avicii unveiled his new bluegrass-influenced tunes earlier this year, taking a risk at Ultra Music Festival, and later outed a promo mix packed with tracks from his forthcoming album. With Random Access Memories out of sight, Avicii's studio album is perhaps the most anticipated of the year, and its lead single will finally see its world premiere this Friday, June 14th on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show. Entitled "Wake Me Up," Avicii's next record is distant from anything he's produced before, setting the benchmark for a his new sound and his new album. [...]

Ok, so as EDM culture takes root faster and faster in the USA it's very interesting to see the types of songs that are rising up the charts. Axwell's "Center of the Universe" sounds like a modern day Erasure song, this is just a straight up pop song... which is fine but where does EDM end and Pop begin? Or are they just one and the same? Oh the classification game is so much fun isn't it! To me this is a well crafted pop song and I would not drop this into any particular electronic music category, [...]

Ok, so EDM culture has been slapped silly with Aviccii's "Levels" but even now you just can't dispute that it was a great track. While checking out a music documentary this morning I heard "Levels" being played as piano solo and I really dug it. So I set out to find the track, two google searches and I found Michael Figliolia's version, along with some other great stuff he had been working on. Check out this solo piano version and let me know if you like it... You might also like: [...]
After Tim Berg won Pete Tong’s Fast Trax BBC Radio 1 competition by a landslide vote of 70% in favour in 2008, he had track “ManMan” released on Pete’s imprint Bedroom Bedlam . Quickly launching himself into international limelight, fellow producer Laidback Luke even commented on Avicii on his MySpace saying “[Avicii], by winning this competition, left many contesters behind in their dust. / So a big CONGRATULATIONS to these brilliant DJs for winning the contest and all the luck with their future careers!” Shortly afterwards, Avicii officially signed to At Night Management, and quickly advanced [...]
19 year-old Tom Swoon sure didn't waste any time since he was last featured on our site. The Polish prodigy, heralded by Billboard as an Artist To Watch in 2013, has been making waves with his recent progressive releases, and now he's back with free downloads to make your weekend. To celebrate 25,000 Likes on his Facebook page, Tom has decided to give away a special Avicii edit to his fans, and believe me when I tell you, this track is straight up dynamite. Avicii may get a [...]
Avicii was without doubt one of the most talked about names last year, with Levels being played to the point of madness. Tom Swoon has taken my favourite Avicii track and added a heavily dub influenced arp to it, putting some of the freshness back into the powerful vocal piece. Definitely worth a listen, and [...]
