We present you to you, the sights and sounds of the remnants of a wild night at one of our favorite clubs to play at in the world... Voyeur San Diego . Insane sound, full on LED light wall, projected camera on the mixer...and the most down, wild-ass crowd you've ever seen. Honored to open for that sweetheart 12th Planet ...he's always bringin' the best chunes and vibes...and that night he was technically poppin bandz...(see below). We recorded our set that night and have selected a lil chunk from it to share with you all...put this on hold for [...]

Like chocolate and peanut butter, two great tastes that taste great together, M-Audio's new Axiom A.I.R. Mini 32 keyboard controller will be packaged with Ignite, a new music ideation and creation software from AIR Music Technology. In this video, Hiro Shimozato from M-Audio and Samara Winterfeld from AIR show off the features of each product at AES 2012 in San Francisco. When M-Audio first announced its new Axiom A.I.R. Mini 32 keyboard controller, I was excited. It fit in with two themes that I’ve been covering over the past year. The first is my [...]
Live Set: A-xiom - September 2012. Genre: Dark Minimal.

There's a spot right at the beginning of Steve Reich's landmark percussion work, Drumming , where you might think the performers messed up. After two percussionists gradually build up a rhythmic cell that forms the basis of the entire work - a thick, polyrhythmic groove - one of them suddenly seems to lose the beat. For a moment, it's chaos, and you get that vicarious tinge of embarrassment when you witness someone fuck up. Until you realize that Steve Reich wanted you to feel that way, wanted you to feel out of phase, dislocated from the beat. And then [...]

I once made the mistake of listening to a recording of Morton Feldman’s Piano and String Quartet . Working through the impressive 25 Years box set of the Kronos Quartet, iTunes told me the piece would be one hour, 19 minutes, and 38 seconds. I dug my heels in and hit play, ready to be blown away. Instead, I was treated to almost 80 minutes of musical Chinese water torture. Feldman repeated the same flashes of sound and color over and over again, without any change in pitch, dynamics, rhythm, or timbre; it just kept going. Quite [...]

First thing's first, we love exciting artists. Born is exciting to us. Venturing into new, refreshing and explosive areas of hip hop & electronica from the flows to the instrumentals. When we listen to Born I, it’s as though Tupac Shakur has passed and been reborn as “the Born Identity.” We’re not all that spiritual, but Born I inspires us to get our meditation on more and to truly “meet ourselves.” We think that if you took Shakur, Ghostface, Kanye, Kid Cudi & The Clipse, put them in a blender and applied some of what Borns production [...]
