Azealia Banks , who just released her 1991 EP, is already back gracing us with new smashes. “Aquababe” finds Banks back on her Speedy Gonzalez flow over an array of glitches and beeps that come from every corner. Most closely related to her recent adventure, “Jumangi”, Machinedrum once again lays down some ridiculous gold for Azealia to feed off of. While “Aquababe” is a nice little title and all, I wish this remained the originally titled, “Regis Chilbin”. Too awesome.

I tend to lose interest in an artist as soon as the drama surrounding them becomes more important than their creative output. With that said, Azealia Banks has somehow remained on our radar, probably because she has been teaming up with producers like Machinedrum . "Aquababe" is the final product of that collaboration, which is grimy and extra heavy on the bass. Alright, let's face it. This is some damn good music right here.

A rare known fact about Azealia Banks is that when she isn't blocking people on Twitter or throwing hissy fits that involve sacking her management, she also makes music. Weird, huh? Here's another new cut from Miss Banks , again with production from Machinedrum , and it's marginally better than her previous attempts, despite it's crass language and the lyrical complexity of a three year old. As with many of her other tracks, I can't help feeling that the beat on Aquababe deserves a better MC....

The song, which was produced by Machinedrum, sees Banks sticking to the undersea motif of her mixtape, and while it takes a while to get going, it's definitely another gem from the rising Harlem rapper. The Fantasea mixtape is set for release on July 4th. In more Azealia Banks news, the official video for her song "Liquorice," directed by Rankin , is due out later today.
