Yes, we happened to get a press release on the new Aziz Ansari commedy album today, but I wouldn't be posting it if I didn't already love Aziz and catch his hilarious appearance on Conan the other night. It's been a while since I have listened to a funny comedy album, and so it's nice to see some new original material coming out, besides "2009's Best Knock Knock Jokes". . and if you don't watch Parks & Recreation, the show wouldn't be the same without him on it. Intimate Moments for [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive Now that Peter Bjorn and John have wrapped a highly-successful summer tour as the support act for Depeche Mode , the quirky band from Sweden is already thinking ahead to their next outing. They've scheduled a short jaunt with fellow Swedes El Perro Del Mar in November, but after that they're thinking about an unusual pairing. "We're talking about having comedians opening up for us," drummer John Eriksson tells Spinner. "We can, if we're lucky, say something [...]

Bumbs away! I'm heading to bed currently in the lap of the luxury at the Olive 8 hotel, prepping myself for the first day of Bumbershoot. The first day is throwing down hard, with big players like Katy Perry and The All American Rejects and Sheryl Crow (oh god) dominating the fray (witty wordplay), but here are the shows that I would put my money on for Saturday the 4th: 12:30 - Dyno Jamz If you are looking for [...]

i haven't seen funny people yet, but i might need to go check it out. this man, comedian aziz ansari plays the vulgar and hilarious up and coming stand-up genius raaaaaaaandy (yup, with 8 a's. no less, no more.) in the flick and from the looks of this 3 part docu-comedy, ansari is nice with it. not only does he have dances to go along with his jokes, he has a DJ on stage with him, dropping air horns and bombs after the big punch-line. check the series out, you wont be disappointed.

If you don't look at a surf board or a rubber presidents mask and think of Point Break, chances are you're from Canada. The funny folks from Human Giant and Reno 911 decided to give the instant classic a slight make over. On my E Harmony page in the ABOUT section, I describe myself as a perfect balance between Bode and Johnny Utah. Video: "RENO 911!" and Human Giant Cinemash "Point Break" [...]
In Judd Apatow's upcoming Funny People, Aziz Ansari plays a character named RAAAAAAAANDY , the first comedian to have his own DJ. And now, because no comedian is complete without an aggressive marketing strategy, Randy launched his own website, laughyourdickoff.com. Comedian-actors Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter -- previously from television cult classics 'The State' and 'Stella -- continued Bonnaroo 's great tradition of integrating comedy with rock 'n' roll at a festival, using their pair of shows on Bonnaroo's final day to promote their upcoming Comedy Central show 'Michael & Michael Have Issues.' They told fans that the new show will be sketch comedy similar to what they did in the State and they even played a clip from the show before introducing fellow comics like Aziz Ansari and surprise guest Margaret Cho to [...]

Well, Bonnaroo's back. With only hours before the opening gates unlock, one can almost smell the dirty hippies, all waiting anxiously to draw nitrous-balloon swords at the likes of skinny-jeaned hipsters. We've already got you covered on what to bring , and besides you'd be rather foolish to not have packed yet, so what else is there to say? Admittedly, there's a lot and we'll be up front about it, it's all very, very overwhelming. Get ready to shower sparingly. Get ready to see more people in a concentrated area than you're used to imagining. But most importantly, get [...]

Bigger headliners, popular acts, and more comedians fill out Day 2 of Nick Traver's three-part series on last weekend's Sasquatch! Music Festival . Be sure to stick around tomorrow for his closing thoughts on Day 3, and please feel free to comment and even share your experiences, too! Night 2: It's odd how you're able to adapt to your surroundings. After only one night at the Gorge, you feel as if you are at home. Granted, it might be a little more smelly, but the people around you are in the exact same [...]

Fences: About a year ago at a fancy sit-down venue in Seattle, I saw Fences, which, at the time, was just Chris Mansfield and a drummer. Mansfield faced away from the audience and the two of them turned out these impossibly melancholy songs at a super-slow tempo, magnifying the sadness to the point where it was inescapable. It was music that seemed to be both created and meant to be listened to alone in the dark. Now, with a full band, a Fences show is a completely different experience. The songs move [...]
