Now that I finished the mannoth undertaking that was The Lost Turntable Guide To Recording Vinyl, I'm starting to wonder what I should try next. Is there anything in the guide that I left out? Any topics that any of you thought I should have covered but didn't? I'm thinking about writing something about what to look for when buying vinyl, because if there's one thing I'm really good at, it's spending money on records. Would anyone be interested in that? Anyways, this is the last post for the week, and I probably won't [...]

Okay, let's try this again. I wrote a thing for Nerve. You should read it. After you do that, come back here. I have music for you. And if you're visiting here for the first time because of Nerve, well then welcome! Want to listen to the soundtrack to Urgh!? If so, you might find this post of some interest. Berlin hardcore dissenters Atari Teenage Riot were among a new generation of German techno artists (also including ATR's Alec Empire, EC80R, Speed Freak, DJ Bleed, etc.) who sought to reconnect music with political radicalism through ever more challenging, experimental hybrids, engaging everything from speed metal and acid to jungle and hardcore punk. This is the [...]
Thought I'd take a break from arguing with game developers on Twitter and pounding my head against my desk trying to overcome a case of writer's block with some happy tunes. And I totally promise to have that guide to ripping vinyl up...sometime. I started that when I had almost no writing work going on and now I seem to have a ton. I'm not complaining about getting paid to write, but it does make this blog kind of a secondary concern. And I'm sure most of you would rather me ramble for a bit and post some [...]

Bascially, take all the quirkiest/offbeat and bust-a-move elements of the B-522s (of which Fred was one of the lead vocalists) and combine it with Bernie Worrell (Parliament, Talking Heads) on keys, and you get a fucked up album thats going to split the audience right down the middle. Personally, I love it. Keith Harring also adored the B-522s so much that Fred invited him onto the clip for the first track from the album, 'Monster'. Not everyone is going to like that delivery. Time and good karma have a funny way of repeating themselves sometimes and coming full circle. Here and now is one of those times, as we tell you the tale of Paper Garden Records' first ever release and the Lovely Hearts Club's newest addition - former Eagle Seagull front-man, Eli Mardock . Eagle Seagull was the inspiration and jumping off point behind Paper Garden Records ' entire existence back in 2005. The town of Lincoln, Nebraska brought the two together, and from there both parties grew into their early [...]
I was planning on posting one more Star Wars LP, an audio story called Rebel Mission To Ord Mantell . However, it turns out you can get that right here . Why don't you just do that instead if you're interested in Star Wars? I'm more interested in posting some bloody music tonight. Winter. It sucks doesn't it? If you live in the Midwest (which is reason enough to be depressed), tonight you're probably bracing for your first big winter storm. That's never fun. And I don't know about you, but I've been reading [...]

Living in your own Private Idaho Underground like a wild potato.

by Jeff Barringer - Staff Photographer It's hard to go to a B-52's concert and not have fun, and tonight's gig at Stubb's was no exception. For a band that that is celebrating their 35th anniversary, they sound and look great, even if Fred isn't quite the dancer he was way back when they were just a "college" band out of Athens and I was a high school student hanging out Raul's and Club Foot. It's hard to see the band and not reminisce over their long career arc. I still miss Ricky Wilson's [...]

Words by Brendan Halloween is a strange holiday, when you think about it. For kids, it's that magical day when you can ask your neighbors for candy and they have to give you some! (Fuck that guy who gave you raisins.) For teens, it's that awkward day where you're too old to trick or treat but you're secretly jealous of kids and their candy so you make mischief and mayhem, instead. (Amiright?) For college students, it's an excuse to get drunk and dress ruhl slutty and get away with it, or an excuse to [...]
The B-52's prove that you can indeed go home again.

Eagle Rock Entertainment is delighted to have released With The Wild Crowd! - Live In Athens, GA , the first official B-52s live album. With The Wild Crowd! was recorded in the B-52s' hometown of Athens, Georgia in February 2011 at a show that commemorated the band's 34th anniversary of their first-ever live show on Valentine's Day 1977. Wig-wearing, boa-draped, glitter-covered fans came from near and far to celebrate this historic event, which saw the band deliver a sizzling 90 minute set [...]
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive , New Releases , Q + A Robb D. Cohen For all of the energy and frat-party frenetics that epitomize a B-52s show, it's amazing they've never put out a live album. That all changes this month with the release 'With the Wild Crowd! Live in Athens, Ga.' Recorded last February in their hometown of Athens, Ga., on the anniversary [...]
