Depuis quelque temps je donne dans la sensibilité, voire la sensiblerie de bas étage. Ma vie suinte le romantisme caramélisé et la mélancolie kafkaienne but thank god j'ai trouvé une bande-son appropriée à mon état d'esprit. Ultra Violence and Beethoven Attention, fort cousinage MGMTesque spotted. Enfin je crois.
No other way of introducing this week's edition of our Friday Mixtape then to tell you we put together something particularly awesome for you guys. After all, names like Yorke, Snoop, Vampire Weekend, and Phoneix are included. So, enjoy! NEW Singles: "Ultra Violence and Beethoven" by Baby Monster "Gloomy Monday Morning" by The Black Hollies "The Laurels of Erotomania" by Cold Cave "Zombie" by Fela Kuti [...]

When we first posted Baby Monster we made a tongue-in-cheek comment about how they were destined to be one of those 'buzzbands' on the blogosphere. We are quite surprised they are yet to be heavily over-exposed. This means it's still ok for us to mention they have a track coming out on the uber trendy 50Bones record label. It's being released in the typical 50Bones stylee as a limited edition 7' which is very pleasing on the eye. The B-Side is a remix from the brilliant Arvene & Misk . You can pre-order [...]
Bringing a quietly anthemic feeling, lyrics about the world ending, and sweet synths, this Baby Monster track drips with youth. There are nice alternations for the fickle at heart: a house beat fluxes into a breakbeat, and distored vocals tag-team a falsetto voice that borrows from Sigur Ros. As someone writes in the comments at Big Stereo, "this is broken dream syrup." The Oregon duo is still obscure, but 50 Bones is putting out a 7" single soon. [ Big Stereo ]

Baby Monster did one of the damn perfect remixes on the Wolf Gang's 'Pieces of You' single a couple of months ago and are now back with something a little more personal, with their first solo release in 'Ultra Violence and Beethoven'. And what a stunner it is. It's slightly reminiscent of MGMT but a lot darker and almost industrial in parts. And then there are the soaring vocals of the chorus that could be Sigur Ros. Rhythm, synths, depth and wonders. 'Beautiful'. Ultra Violence and Beethoven is released on 50 Bones on [...]

First off, this Eugene, OR duo is named Baby Monster . That alone is worth rad reviews cause that, my friends, is an awesome stinking name! Secondly, they make really nifty electropop with a bit of a dark twist. That said, I'm hooked. While Danny Sternbaum has established himself as one of the most exciting new producers, even to the point that he turned down the chance to engineer what would have been Michael Jackson's new album, bandmate Marty Larson has played in various Oregon bands over the years, [...]
Hailing from America's West Coast, Baby Monster are electronica stars in the making. "Ultra Violence & Beethoven" is the debut single from the Oregon pair. Lo-fi but gazing at the... **Summary** Go to website for downloads, videos & more.

What would it sound like if Sigur Ros and The Sound of Arrows held a dance party with MGMT & The Big Pink? Probably A LOT like Baby Monster . The band from Eugene, Oregon have a sound that's very popular at the moment, but that doesn't mean you've heard it like this before. They have their own take on this neo-bohemian-indie-electro sound and I'm feeling their particular sound a lot more than most of the originators. Sadly, I'm making this whole judgment on only two original songs they have made available [...]

When you wake up and realize you are the last person on earth, "Ultra Violence and Beethoven" might be the optimal choice for your personal soundtrack. There's a new world/new birth feeling to this one. Baby Monster makes me think of the beginning of MGMT's "Kids" video , and perhaps the lazy comparisons don't stop there. But there's something a little more and different going on here. If I was into rainbows and hearts and shit I'd put a bunch of hearts next to the song to prove how much I love/care about this [...]

What is in the water in Oregon?!! Sooo many good bands come from there; The Shins, Yacht, The Thermals, The Dandy Warhols to name but a few. And its the state that keeps on giving as the latest export is Baby Monster ; an awesome new group with a totally original sound and superb songs. They've got a single coming out on 50 bones and you can catch them live in the uk this autumn. Excited! Baby [...]

Baby Monster are a three piece from Eugene, Oregon. They are one one those bands who in the not too distant future will recieve a ridiculous amount of hype, we're talking 'ZOMG! PASSION MGMT COLLETIVES' type of hype. So before that happens and I go full circle and hate them, I would just like to state the following.... CURSES IS FANTASTIC. CURSES IS FANTASTIC. CURSES IS FANTASTIC. It sounds like M83. [...]

via So it's the second run-out for our podcast after the switch from weekly to monthly, allowing The Mix Tape to swim deeper into the sea of incredible music around right now... We have some real gems in the bag with massive grind-beats from Californian Noise-Rock group HEALTH (album 'Get Color' released Sep 7 UK), as well as the first taste of Atlas Sound on 'Walkabout' with vocals from Animal Collective's Panda Bear. There are huge remixes of Neon Gold's Wolf Gang, Manchester band Delphic and Amanda Blank from the likes of [...]
Max McElligott aka Wolf Gang is a school dropout turned pop enthusiast from Londontown. McElligott makes a brand of sugar cane world pop that's caffeinated and carbonated, shaken up and just ready to get set off to explode. The first...
Band Mismanagement Baby Monster is being tipped by some to be the next big hipster phenomenon. They're already being compared to MGMT, Animal Collective and Passion Pit and that's just a start; I even heard them compared to Thom Yorke's solo work. I found out about them through French art blog Fluo Kids , which may or may not indicate there appeal to the hippest of European fashionistas. The duo hail from Eugene, Oregon, a town not so well known for its musical output. However these guys [...]
