Faster Louder is reporting that Bad Religion is ready to begin pre-production on their next album. The magazine spoke to drummer Brooks Wackerman who explained: Brett and Greg have already started work on some new material. I'm yet to hear any of their ideas but when we get back from Australia and New Zealand we're going to start pre-production on the next record. It's just a matter of getting the songs together and making the best record we can. But in 2010 we're definitely releasing a new album. The band last [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Television Bruce Springsteen commemorated the final concerts at Giants Stadium on Wednesday night by unveiling a brand new tune. He surprised fans by opening with 'Wrecking Ball,' his homage to the massive New Jersey venue that he's rocked on many occasions since the E Street Band first performed there during its 'Born to Run' Tour. The band's Oct. 9 gig will be the last concert at the stadium. "Join us tonight to shut the old lady down," Springsteen [...]
As one of the chief riff providers for swaggercore titans Every Time I Die, Andy Williams takes pride in making the discordant into catchy. For a perfect example of this, look no further than the band's latest (MetalSucks-approved) album, New Junk Aesthetic. Distilling the band's decade-plus essence into a tight half hour, it's a satisfying [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive , Movies Anybody who knows Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman knows the guy is an unquestioned egalitarian. This is a man who makes his headliners sometimes play at 11 in the morning and doesn't let anybody know until the day of show what time they take the stage. So when fans complained recently that the 15th anniversary celebration Warped party would be limited to Los Angeles only, he listened. "Originally it was just going to be a one-off show and then [...]
Ok, this might not exactly be "metal news" but it's still pretty cool. In celebration of 15 years running of the Warped Tour, and to celebrate they had a concert on September 5th featuring some legendary punk bands including NOFX, BAD RELIGION, Ice T's BODY COUNT and PENNYWISE, as well as new favorites like UNDEROATH, [...]

Here we are, back at 1994 when the punk was punk and the grunge was grungy. The mid '90s was a hell of a time for film soundtracks to be perfectly honest. Every musical genre was retrofitted to movies, seamlessly holding them together, sometimes by a thin stream of consciousness ( Lost Highway ), or other times when the film enhanced the sounds of a depicted era ( Singles , The Crow ). Somewhere in the shuffle of this decade between hair bands and nu-metal, a movie came around that not so much defined a generation but instead became [...]
It's somewhat ironic to consider anything as harsh as Black Flag or The Jesus Lizard "refreshing," but that was the first thought that raced to my mind when "False Jesii Part 2," the opening track on King of Jeans came blasting out of my headphones.
LISTENING Rings by Sean Bones I came into Rings skeptical of its staying power, a perception built over several failed attempts to educate myself on reggae. The lack of success in these endeavors leaves me unsophisticated enough to know if Sean Bones plays quality reggae or not. I do know I enjoy it. Genre conventions are mixed with indie scene lyrics (you'll find no [...]

Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz gave fansite The BR Page the following update on the progress of the band's next album: "I've also been writing some songs and am looking forward to demoing them with Brooks and the others as soon as they're off the Warped Tour." Frontman Greg Graffin recently announced that the band does indeed plan to have a new album ready for a 2010 release. When released, it'll be the band's first studio album since 2007's New Maps of Hell , which was [...]
Is 26 too old to be wearing a puffy-painted t-shirt and moshing?
When I was in High School I was surrounded by Hip-Hop kids & naturally gravitated towards that, but when I left H.S. that all changed. The kids I hung out with were punk rock kids & I found my niche. I loved the three chord anthems, the speed, the noise, the anger, all of it. We'd Go to Koo's Cafe & watch bands playing those cranked out punk songs like they were lighting matches, just ferociously grinding away against the perceived establishment. I started really loving the whole scene & while I was never a "gutter punk" I [...]

The princess and I attended the Warped Tour at it's local stop over the weekend. Note how I did NOT say that we attended it together. I was dumped at the gate. The princess is 15 years old now and feels she does not need her old man to cramp her style. Of course, she DID need her old man to gain her entry, as I was granted a couple of press passes, gaining me access to said festival. So, she hung out with me long enough to get a press pass, and off she went, [...]
So here's round two of what might be a never ending stream of pop punk coming out of my speakers. I wasn't going to include the China Drum song this early in the series, but a message from my guy Jeff (of the great Rocket Fuel podcast) the other day about the band prompted me to include it here. I've also included a song from The Caddies that I'm guessing approximately 5 or 6 other people have ever heard. Enjoy. MP3 | Bad Religion - American Jesus [...]
In his newly launched Twitter Profile , Doctor Greg Graffin of UCLA and Bad Religion has posted some of his plans for 2010: 2010 goals: new book, new album, new TV show. Right now: work toward each of them whilst on the Warped Tour. Bad Religion is currently on the Warped Tour .
(photo by Robin Laananen) Consistently defining, trashing and redefining the happy go-between for rock music and endless creativity, Justin Pearson and Nathan Joyner (two-thirds of All Leather, not to mention countless others) are Leg Lifters , a project based on continuing that quest, but in the vein of remixing other songs rather than leafing through their own playbooks. The boys have just wrapped up a remix of Bad Religion 's seminal "21st Century Digital Boy", turning the California straight-ahead aggro-punk godfathers' anthem into a full-on Locust affair, complete with digital hiccups, slayed vocals and terrifying production.
