Cincinnati pop-rockers Bad Veins showed off their aptitude for crafting catchy, high-flying pop hooks and earnest boy-meets-girl songwriting on their 2009 self-titled debut. On April 24th, the pair will return their sophomore LP, The Mess We've Made , via Modern Outsider Records. "Dancing On TV" is the first single off the record and comes complete with a '70s-inspired music video. We resume our reposts of the Blogophilia series this week with volumes 8 and 8.5. Why 8 and 8.5? Well, I mixed these at the same time, and the tracks came from the same collection of songs I reviewed. Calling one 8 and the other 9 didn't feel right. A bit lost in the shuffle of SxSW was a show at La Zona Rosa on the Tuesday before the full on start of the Music Festival. The lineup featured an interesting combination of bands in town for the conference; Bad Veins, Royal Bangs and Two Door Cinema Club.
