This perfectly disheveled Swedish four-piece have been carving out taut, just-out-of-bed indie-pop for the last few years, culminating in their addictive, sugar-pop debut EP. Last month's passing of Jason Molina, the man behind Songs Ohia and Magnolia Electric Company was an incredibly sad moment for the indie rock community. This week, Secretly Canadian reissued Songs: Ohia' s first EP, 19972s Hecla & Griper , in recognition of the album's 15th anniversary. According to press for the release, this is just one of multiple projects the label was working on with Jason Molina before his passing back in March . This weekend marks the inaugural run for Atlanta's brand new Shaky Knees Festival , and I'm stoked to be there to experience it! The two day festival will be held in a newly completed park next to a prominent Atlanta music venue, The Masquerade . The schedule and lineup is a bit light compared to other festival heavy-hitters ( Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Hangout ), but for a first year festival, the lineup is pretty amazing.
