Band of Horses' member Ryan Monroe is putting his multi-instrumental skills on display with his debut solo effort A PAINTING OF A PAINTING ON FIRE . The new album releases on June 12th and steers away from Monroe's more associated indie folk leanings for pop oriented progressive rock. We previously featured a download of the album's first single, " Any Way, Shape Or Deformity ", but now we have a new single, "Turning Over Leaves", that finds Monroe turning over a leaf to become Bon Iver. Give a listen to multi-instrumentalist Ryan Monroe (of Band of Horses) and the first listen of his single "Turning over Leaves," an interesting pop-oriented soul influenced track off his upcoming album A Painting of a Painting on Fire . This is definitely not what I was thinking I'd hear from a BoH alum, but I'm really digging the smoothness and delivery of this track. It's really damn catchy. Look for A Painting of a Painting on Fire 6/12.

Band of Horses unveiled a new single at Lollapalooza Brazil that has been dubbed as "Long Vows". While that title would make sense, it's not the actual name of the song and remains untitled as of now. The new song has been confirmed to be part of the upcoming new Band of Horses' album that was produced by Glyn Johns. The new album will be out sometime later this year.
