What an absolutely damaged and noisy sound Israel's Barbara has managed to craft. After listening to their latest album Peger , I still don't know exactly what to make of it. All I know is that it's one of the most punishing records I've managed to hear thus far this year. Behind this fractured and feedback laden mess is merely the drums and bass duo of David Opp and Re-em H, both of which have been playing together in some form or another since 1987. [...]
