The dudes over at Trashbags 'ave only gone and started their own record label, 'aven't they?!?! Tuff Em Up 's first release will be by Chilean synth noodler Barretso and it should be pretty amazing judging by this taster here. 'Midnight Walk' will be featured on the 'Bright City Lights' EP and is almost perfectly crafted Dreamwave (If you want to call it that), washes of retro synths and arpeggiated basslines and just a hint of soaring lead all wrapped up in a smooth mix. It's too hot to move today. It's 41° here in Melbourne, the air conditioning and I are no longer on speaking terms and my laptop feels as though it is about to melt into my legs. It doesn't matter if you haven't heard of Barresto before (like me) because this release is a solid introduction to the man's talent. Midnight Walk on Trashbags ' own label Tuff Em Up stands up to it's name and projects the-street-is-my-catwalk feel with an energetic cascade of synth progression and power notes fitting for a Midnight Walk scene in a superhero movie from the 80s. ♫ Barretso - Midnight Walk Good stuff.
