Barrett Elmore started out as a trio in 2008 and played from the beginning a raw, instrumental blues. Soon they moved over to psychadelia and music inspired by this and when the singer Mikaela joined the band they found the style and sound which is reflected in their music today. This has resulted in their debut album "Woodlands" which was finished a few days ago. I am a sucker for Nordic bands. Hanne Hukkelberg, Lykke Li, Vapnet...you name them, I have a soft spot for their pure vocals and generally niceness. Barrett Elmore are a bit different though. They're spooky and haunting, yet still beautifully psychedelic. Think thriller soundtrack material with a groove and your dead great-granddad on guest vocals. I got an email this morning from a band that really scared me. The band is Barrett Elmore . What scared me was the description of the band's sound and their upcoming project.
