80s Synth T.V. themes

by electronic rumors

Or, 80s Synth T.V. themes redux! This is a total rehash of a electronic rumors post from about three years ago, but I wanted to redo it with a few more tracks and some better quality version of a couple of the tune we featured last time. Also, back in the day it was all MediaFire and zShare and shit, and no-one likes that! So, here we have something a little different for this Sunday. Back in the 80s, 2011 seemed like the far, far, future and although we still have no jetpacks, flying [...]

Burns - Teknique

by Tracasseur

Burns ends up the summer with a new EP named "Teknique", his third EP this year. Together with the title track there are two more songs that also are remixed my Fred Falke and His Majesty Andre . "Teknique" is a intense wallop right in the face, and it will keep you knocked! Burns - Teknique Thomas Bachellier has also outdone himself to produce a clip that does "Teknique " justice. With scenes from the cult movie "The Warriors" from 1979 I can't resist also posting the theme [...]

by electronic rumors

Something a bit different for this holiday Monday. The 80s was a time of looking to the future (cos everything was a bit shit then) and this was reflected in glossy, futuristic T.V.. Of course, futuristic T.V. shows had to have futuristic theme songs, and that meant Synthesizers! So heres a small collection of some of the best to fuel your nostalgia. Beginning with possible my favourite TV theme of the 80s, Tangerine Dream s theme from Streethawk (also on their own Le Parc album), taking in the classic themes from Airwolf and Knight Rider [...]

by Who Needs Radio

This post originally began as a collection of cheesy theme songs, but eventually grew into a mass of songs from the soundtracks of movies I love and adore. A good majority of them are 80s classics since I was born in '81, but there are some newer and older gems mixed in too. I had a lot of fun gathering them, since just hearing them brings back tons of good movie viewing memories (read as: makeouts). It also reminded me of how much I've always wanted the opportunity to compile a soundtrack for a movie. I have no idea how [...]

by Freddy Krueger's Bidet

The Warriors, in my opinion one of the finer films out there, had everything in it that a growing boy needs, and more, but it still interests me now. I recently came across a set of programmes about the making of and the stylisation of the film, it was technically very well put together, the camera work and some of the eerie scenes (the Jones Street gangs roller-skater!). But there was all the little stuff, the choreographed fights, the amazing lighting, the costumes, and one of the most important things in films, the soundtrack. Barry De Vorzon and his soundrack [...]
