I never got around to buying the last Basement Jaxx album. The Dizzee Rascal song, "Lucky Star," was insane-a bigger, bolder and brasher version of "Romeo." Siouxie Sioux's contribution, "Cish Cash," was just as huge, even though it was completely different. "Good Luck," "Hot and Cold"-it seemed like the Jaxx could do no wrong. And then I heard "Supersonic" and it all fell apart. I didn't really like "Where's Your Head At," though that's the one Basement Jaxx song everyone recognized. But "Supersonic" was a whole new world of suck. It sounded like a [...]
Basement Jaxx @ Webster Hall 10/11/2006 Good Luck / Romeo / Oh My Gosh / Right Here's The Spot / Take Me Back To Your House / Do Your Thing / Hey U / Lights Go Down / Everybody / Jump 'N' Shout / Red Alert / Where's Your Head At?!? // Bingo Bango Basement Jaxx "Take Me Back To Your House" (Live in Cologne, youtube link) - One thing that you need to know about Basement Jaxx is that when they play live, they [...]

it's funny, because i really didn't even intend for this to happen (it's reminiscent of when my vitamins and allergy pills ran out at exactly the same time), but i figure we're at about post #100 (assuming you take out the ones where i say i can't post, and you'll have to wait). so i wanted a post to say thanks. and it's (canadian) thanksgiving. and i'm rambling. but i think the rambling is what makes you all keep coming back. but anyway, i wanted to do something special. and while this may be way less special than what i [...]

Funky Friday Fourpack White boys bringing the funk in their uniquely white way... Junior Boys - Double Shadow Blogger favorites return with their second album of wistful, glitchy synth pop, with one foot in today's (and 1983's) world of technology and the other firmly planted in the soft rock of the '70s. Justin Timberlake - Pose (featuring Snoop Dogg) [...]

Basement Jaxx return with fresh material. It's always a worry when a greatest hits (oh, sorry, more trendy these days... The Singles) CD is released by an artist or group - always sews the seed of doubt as to whether we've seen the last of said act. Alas, avert your fears, Crazy Itch Radio is the new album from the Jaxx, and it's a scorcher. The 14 track offering starts with a very dramatic opera style Intro that left a friend of mine saying "that's the sort of thing you [...]

it's yet another remix day. yeah, you could call it laziness. or you'd be perfectly within your rights to say that i am just excited that i sorted out the wireless situation and feel the need to post right! now! or we could all just agree that i like remixes, and so do you. google tells me so, and the internet never lies, right? also, if anyone reading this goes to mohawk, let me know...maybe you can hook me up with how your first week went. maybe you want to tell me face to face ENOUGH WITH THE REMIX [...]
Next Tuesday is probably the most crazy day in record releases that I can remember in a long time. New releases are set for Album Leaf, Mouse on Mars, DJ Shadow, Junior Boys, The Rapture, Justin Timberlake and TV on the Radio (and you know I can't wait the new John Mayer to drop...errr just kidding). One of the records I didn't mention that I am incredibly excited for is the masters of house, Basement Jaxx's Crazy Itch Radio . In preperation for the release I have dug a bit for some Basement Jaxx remixes and have [...]

United Kingdom Basement Jaxx is releasing their latest album on September 12 through XL Recordings . I think you'll be satisfied with Crazy Itch Radio if you've been a fan of previous Basement Jaxx records. "Hey You" Basement Jaxx on MySpace
Down in Louisville for Labor Day weekend. Listened to Justin Timberlake and Basement Jaxx's new albums on the way down. Both home runs. I'm not going to get into JT's album because he really doesn't need any help exposurewise, but damn, that album is really good. Speaking of the two, Basement Jaxx have done a vocal remix of JT's Like I Love You . Anyway, back to the Jaxx. Their new one is called Crazy Itch [...]

"Melhor banda do mundo ao vivo" Ontem o Muse fechou o segundo dia do Reading Festival . Confiram alguns videos dessa apresentação e baixem o Bootleg.
Next month marks the release of Basement Jaxx's fourth album, Crazy Itch Radio . If you were lucky enough to listen to the entire album stream earlier in the week then you already know what to expect here. As usual the duo strays from usual convention and always forging new and unique sounds that are basically all over the place. If you check out the Crazy Itch Radio website , you can listen to a slew of album tracks and a nice little interview that [...]
Basement Jaxx - Hush Boy (soulseekerz mix) (MP3) This mix is everything I had hoped the original would be. Sure to rock a dancefloor near you. Come to think of it, I've never seen Matthew Bellamy and Gwen Stefani together in the same room. Eerie... Matthew Bellamy of Muse + 120% pitch shift = Gwen Stefani One-Handed 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube solved in 20.09 seconds Wow, I couldn't do it in 2 hours
Felix Burtonin ja Simon Ratcliffen muodostoma tanssiduo Basement Jaxx julkaisee neljännen albuminsa Crazy Itch Radio 4. syyskuuta. Edelliseen Kish Kash -levyyn verrattuna vierailijoiden määrä on pidetty maltillisena. Tällä kertaa mukana ovat mm. Robyn , Lady Marga ja Linda Lewis . Tyylillisesti levy kuulostaa loogiselta jatkeelta aiemmille levyille. Crazy Itch Radio:ta voi kuunnella kokonaisuudessaan yhtyeen MySpace-sivulla . Tags: Basement Jaxx
Hardly any released worth mentioning this week, unless you wanted the Snakes on a Plane soundtrack. Next week though will be a monster week for great album releases, so definitely look forward to that. To not make this post a complete waste of time I made a little mix of electronic songs for my little drive to Atlanta later today. Chemical Brothers | "Star Guitar" Goldfrapp | "Twist" Basement Jaxx | "Romeo" [...]
Bjork, "Who Is It (Vitalic remix)" Basement Jaxx, "Cish Cash (Vitalic remix)" Royskopp, "What Else Is There (Vitalic remix)" More remix magic, this time from one of the better known names in electronic music right now, Vitalic . I think that I'll put up some tracks from his recent album, OK Cowboy , which is excellent, one of the year's best. Vitalic is, you guessed it, French, another member of this amazing electro generation that has become my obsession. This [...]

A quick lapse into cha cha then suicide, a fan refusing to play to abusers in the middle of the night, thwarting any attempt to penetrate, Gato blowing hard, Eddie exploding, Ray interjecting-impossible to sit still through this tango crap Samba Magic - Basement Jaxx Milano Gospel - Argento Kiimaniityn Kutsu - Kemialliset Ystavat Dumb whack! flutes and windblown melodies through a maze of lungcancer leaves me scratching my head and wondering why this guy has an emotional voice and [...]

I'm a 23rdian - I was born at 9:23 in the morning, and ever since I have experienced the number 23 at key points in my life. I was hit by a car in Denmark whose license plate started with 23. My fiancee passed away at age 23. I always find myself waking up on the 23rd minute of the hour. But that's just me- 23 is present everywhere. I'll list some of the easy ones. We have 23 pairs of chromosomes; The earth's tilt is 23.4 degrees; Psalm 23 (the Shepards Psalm) is the most quoted [...]

The rumours of Robyn's return to the UK charts (her last release was Do You Really Want Me which I bought on cassette in 1998) have been steadily produced for the last year or so, ever since she released her genius self-titled album in Sweden. At last one of the rumours has come true and this song, although it may never be a single, will be released in the UK as part of the forthcoming Basement Jaxx album, interestingly titled Crazy Itch Radio. The song is nothing like what we're used to from Robyn, in fact it sounds like some [...]
