On last year's I Wish My Brother Rob Was Here rapper Milo showed his preference for experimental hip-hop beats. He took on instrumentals from guys like Shlohmo and Flying Lotus, but his intelligent off-kilter delivery fit in perfectly with the unorthodox production. It seems fitting that his next project, Milo Takes Baths, will feature the MC spitting over all Baths productions. "Atlas Flushed (Grumpy Groucho Marxist Response)" is our first glimpse at that release, as Milo takes on "Apologetic Shoulder Blades" from the album Curulean . [ Via ] [...]

MP3 Last year, I covered quite a few up-and-coming MCs, and one of the most clever I came across was a young buck by the name of Milo. His debut mixtape, I Wish My Brother Rob Was Here , was one of the first releases I've heard to take the nerd rap and make it relatable and endearing-you know, instead of a cartoony effigy. Milo's got a new mixtape on the way, and it's nothing but new rhymes and instrumentals from beatmusic producer Baths. The title? Milo [...]

Kash and Yori down at Yak films are known for their innovation in the field of dance videos. With this new visual the team seems to branching from their regular formula into an experimental tributary of nature and sound. Audio, visual dopeness.

Sometimes I get spoiled by living in Los Angeles. Whether it's walking down the street and bumping into a celebrity or knowing about a "hot" band before they make it seems completely normal. Sure the latter part of that statement will probably ostracize me from some of my readers, but it's true. Although it seems pretentious and snobbish, it feels weird constantly saying, "I have been listening to this band for X amount of years before anyone knew who they were." After a while you become accustomed to this feeling and jaded since a lot of breakthrough bands [...]

Last Friday, the Bowery Ballroom played host to an eclectic mix of excitable fans who gathered to bask in the pop vocals and electro beats of Will Wiesenfeld as Baths. Will, who has also released tracks under the Geotic and [Post-Foetus] monikers, has become just as well known for his affable onstage banter and humble regard for fans as for his high energy shows, and this night was no exception. First up was musician and producer Joel Burleson's Ki:Theory. Embodying cut-n-paste music at its best, Ki:Theory's original songs [...]

Happy Monday, folks! A while back DJ Echoes wrote a concert review for Baths and Braids . Since reading that post, Baths's track Lovely Bloodflow has made a prominent appearance in numerous different playlists on my iPod. So when I heard he was coming to DC again to finish up his East Coast tour, I was more than ecstatic to see him play live. I've been to my fair share of live shows and normally know what to expect. However, this time I had no clue what I was getting myself into, despite [...]

A self-descibed "cut-n-paste" musician, Ki:Theory (nee Joel Burleson) is best known for re-working tracks by Daft Punk , Ladytron, Brazilian Girls, UNKLE, and Sasha. But, upon visiting the Virginia-native's website , which contains eight albums free to download, listeners discover Ki:Theory is as comfortable producing organic, minimal pop tracks as he is re-configuring electro bangers. With another LP set for an early 2012 release, Ki:Theory has plans to release a series of singles leading up to the album's yet-to-be confirmed drop date, beginning with the debut of the video for "I Wanna Run". Featuring vocalist Maura Davis (Denali), the [...]
