Having already staged two South American legs this year, one of North America’s biggest live music events will return to home soil in the summer with over 160,000 festivalgoers with Lollapalooza tickets expected to descend upon Chicago’s Grant Park on the weekend of Aug 2-4. Following up on 2012’s self-titled EP, Portland’s Pure Bathing Culture will releasing their debut full-length Moon Tides this Summer. First single “Pendulum” is a warm and reminiscing slice of seaside indie-pop that will be best enjoyed at the brisk of morning. Sarah Versprille’s ethereal vocals give us hope among all of the despair.

Following an excellent debut - Pure Bathing Culture have crafted a fantastic sophomore effort in Moon Tides . With more sophisticated song structures and a delicate execution, PBC channel the best parts of Beach House with tinges of Cocteau Twins and a West Coast wispiness that fits their aesthetic perfectly. London duo Still Corners have released their sophomore album today, named Strange Pleasures and it's highly recommend you get it on your playlist rotation. For me this album is a fresh breath of dream pop air drawing some similarities to a Beach House sound, with elements of Youth Lagoon and our featured track striking a Grimes chord. Este hecho sin embargo no frenó los planes de Yuck para su segundo álbum. El resto de la alineación original,  Mariko Doi (bajista), Jonny Rogoff (baterista) y Max Bloom (guitarrista y ahora vocalista) se encuentra en una provincia de Nueva York (a dos horas de Manhattan y 15 minutos de la civilización [...]

London based dreamsters Quimper contribute "Soft Bodies" to the compilation Soft Bodies Don't Bleed available here .  It sounds like maybe what Beach House would have sounded like had they joined a traveling carnival act instead of signing to an indie label.   The creepy synths sound even spookier next to the innocent child-like vocals.  If you listen closely though it is striking and beautiful how they contextualize Beethovenian counterpoint and harmony into a hip dream pop song in 2013.  Right on Quimper.

London-based trio Everything by Electricity craft a dreamy form of electro-pop with stepping stones in infectious dance and lush shoegaze. The latter shows most in their production, shrouded in warm reverb but not overtly so as to cloak the beautiful melodies. Their stellar vocalist, Yulia, essentially sounds like Beach House's Victoria Legrand, making the dream-pop/shoegaze comparisons all the easier. "Violet Haze" is a stunner that initially rides on extended synth pads and a nostalgic motor-like ignition. Fragments of rhythm guitar are laced around Yulia's vocals when they appear, as an interesting bridge approaches that features a whirring guitar transition. The [...]
