Charles Bukowski was an American poet, novelist and short story writer that spent a great deal of his time writing about the realism of life in Los Angeles for the lower class. As Time put it back in 1986 he was the "laureate of American lowlife." This "lowlife" included poems full of alcoholism, prostitutes, relationships and the tediousness of work. One of Bukowski's collection of poems was entitled Love is a Dog From Hell . That is the same title as the new single from the Limousines. One must imagine that the two are connected in some way. In [...]
Magnetically as addictive as watching the beautiful Iberian sunset and listening to a pounding stream of endless underground dance music, GRIZZLY’s latest two numbers in ‘S.A.B.’ and ‘Bean’ set the cat amongst the pigeons and go chasing after a carriage of excitement - only seen on dancefloors that are dancing to the DJ (without numerous no-marks propping up the bar and looking like a bunch of immature twinklerly-dinks in the process). GRIZZLY’s first in a long line of upcoming seamless mixes, will occur at the beginning of every month and are branded as [...]

Some of the best bar food in Tampa can be found at Mr. Dunderbak's (despite what J-Fur's parents might say). Most of the food isn't vegetarian (let alone vegan) and it certainly isn't healthy. The good stuff is all fried. I made the mistake of eating there the night before a half marathon a few years back and that was one of the worst runs I've ever had. All that fried food was just sitting in my stomach the entire race. But people need to eat bad every once in a while, just not before a big race, [...]
It may be two years since Antipop Consortium 's Beans released his last solo album (the excellent, End It All ) but he's just released a video for one of the LP's highlights, Deathsweater . The video coincides with the news that he's about to release a new EP with electronic musician and producer, Mux Mool called Knifefight - which is followed by a new solo [...]
Two years ago, Antipop Consortium rapper Beans released End It All , a self-produced but highly collaborative LP featuring assists from Four Tet, TV On The Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, Black Moth Super Rainbow's Tobacco, and Interpol's Sam Fogarino. Whatever the statute of limitations is on a music video from a previous released album, exceptions must be granted for work this clearly labor-intensive, as it probably took all this time to make: End It All 's funk-tipping track "Deathsweater" gets what is essentially a lyric-video of the highest order directed/edited/filmed/animate d by The Wilderness , the motion graphics design [...]

J-Fur's cousin and her husband spent a few months living in two places. They had a unique mountain home in Colorado and a nice river front place in Sarasota. Eventually bills caught up to them and they had to decide which one to live in permanently. They chose Sarasota. They packed up the house in Colorado, bought a trailer, and headed straight for the land of oranges. Upon arrival they realized they had a small dilemma. They owned two of everything. Before hauling half of their possessions off to a good will, they decided to offer free things to anyone [...]

So, as we are currently sidelined in Chicago due to our van's recent illness, we had a day to explore and enjoy the city. W e spent time at the beach, walked around town, and were also fortunate enough to see the "screamin' eagle of soul" - Mr. Charles Bradley and his Extraordinaries perform at Millennium Park - for free. Check out the photos below.. [...]

I love it when N8 submits his year-end lists. They are unpretentious, span a vast repertoire of genres, and typically include several albums I have yet to hear. N82s 2011 list fits the mold: in fact, I have yet to listen to any of the ones that made the list this year. Now this is not by lack of want or know - I'm familiar with many of the albums, just haven't gotten around to them. Dig in and enjoy! Intro by Fense * * [...]

The video for 'Blue Movie' was full of ice-cream, girls kissing, nipples and swirling colours. If they made a video for this Salva remix it would probably contain less nipples, but way more destruction. The Son Lux touch has pretty much been wiped away, leaving behind a skittish collection of sounds, carefully supporting Beans' flow. Pretty good stuff here.

It's time to listen to a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. These are just a few of the songs that would get there own individual posts on here on GIMME TINNITUS, if I only had the time. You can stream all the songs in this mix using the Yahoo media player at the bottom of the page OR if you are browsing with Chrome you can play (and scrobble ) the whole page using the ex.fm extension OR [...]

If your knowledge of Chilly Gonzales stretches little further than the piano plonking and tap dancing of Never Stop, not a semiquaver beyond the saccharine faux-disco of You Can Dance then The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales may just banish your voice from your mouth. From melodramatic opener Supervillain Music to ulcer-inducing, tongue-in-cheek closer Shut up and Play the Piano, Gonzales (aka Jason Beck) comes across as a sedate Marshall Mathers reclining atop a sequin-strewn grand piano, simultaneously self-depreciating and self-celebrating. The self-professed "musical genius" weighs up the pros and cons of his existence on Self Portrait, painting a particularly [...]
Yesterday we ran an update for all those who wanted to hit up music on Friday that didn't include braving the darker side of things at Psych Fest, so today we'll give you a heads up on the shows for Saturday, since there's still lots going on. Hex Dispensers @ Beerland - One of Austin's greatest little bands. Always a must see! Beans, Plasticity @ Emos - Electronic tunes? Sure, why not. Tickets = $8. Chuck [...]

Plans change. Sometimes you're prepared, and sometimes you're not. Some people deal well with unexpected changes. They tell themselves to chin up, and they actually do - chin up, that is. Suck it up, take a deep breath, and put one foot in front of the other. I'm not usually one of those people, though I've always wished that I could be. It's surprising that I'm comfortable with adapting in the kitchen, because I have a hard time adapting to changes elsewhere. Take, for example, travel plan changes. How are you with unexpected travel changes? I do not deal well [...]
