Bu şarkıyı seviyorum. Islık çalarak eşlik etmeyi seviyorum. Sözlerini de seviyorum (bkz: comment) . bir gün ben de kavırlamak istiyorum. beat happening:: the this many boyfriends club [jamboree, 1988] kavırı daha dinlenilebilir: bugbear :: the this many boyfriends club [four twee songs, 1993] albüm kapağını da seviyorum.

i said the other day that i'm not really into xmas music, but there are a few xmas related tunes i do enjoy. i guess what i like about these songs is that they manage to incorporate a xmas theme without beating you over the head with it. one of my favorites is "songs of the season" from soltero's 2005 album hell train . with a chorus of "could it be, could all your dreams just stop and disappear? could it be you won't get what you wanted this year?", its not your traditional xmas song, [...]

Lo-fi, lo-musicianship, lo-suckage. Hi-awesome. Beat Happening - Christmas backup link "I had sex on Chrismas I had sex three times today Three different women taught be how to be bored in their own separate, sweet, little ways I feel like hell on Christmas And I feel like hell today I feel like Hell When I wake-up, I can tell that I'm never gonna make you stay Okay, here it goes [...]

No question this is my favorite Beat Happening song. This was recorded on KAOS Radio, Evergeen and Olympia's local radio station. Beat Happening were playing a live set while taking requests for songs from callers. This song is normally sung by Calvin, but Heather takes over vocal duties but seems to forget a few of the lyrics in the process. It's still a great version of a great song. Download: Beat Happening - I Spy (FM Live)
This song saved me today. Beat Happening - Cry for a Shadow "I see you crying I see the patterns They come and go Leave you shattered You shed for so many untrue Can you cry for a shadow Can you cry for a heart crying out for you Can you cry for a shadow No one asked you to [...]

I'm finally going to get the chance to see my most anticipated movie of the year tomorrow: Wes Anderson's The Darjeeling Limited . I've heard mostly good and some bad things about the film, so I'm going into it optimistically especially since I love all of his films. One thing I've heard is that the movie features Apple products prominently, and Hotel Chevalier was released exclusively in iTunes, so it makes since that they would do a Celebrity Playlist. Owen Wilson isn't involved for obvious reasons, but Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman [...]

Oscar the chihuahua-pug supports the cause . Do you? Then sign the petition ! Beat Happening - What's Important (from Beat Happening , 1985) - Have you ever wondered how Iggy Pop's "The Passenger" would sound if it was written and recorded (with female vocals) in a basement apartment off of US Route 5? I imagine it would pretty closely resemble this track.
Death Cab for Cutie's main man, Ben Gibbard, has contributed new music to the rock doc of Kurt Cobain's conversations with journalist and friend, Michael Azerrad, titled Kurt Cobain: About A Son. That film's soundtrack was released yesterday on Barsuk and on it Gibbard's covers "Indian Summer" by K Records band Beat Happening. The About A Son soundtrack also features previously released tracks from Mudhoney, the Melvins, Mark Lanegan, and more, as well as Cobain faves like Iggy Pop, Half Japanese, David Bowie, R.E.M., and Leadbelly. You can listen to a 30 sec clip of Gibbard's version below [...]
Calvin Johnson swaggers into Todd Wehr Hall tonight as part of Art vs. Craft . I'm not sure what to expect, having never seen him live.

Growing up in the suburbs, out of the signal range of college radio and without many friends that listened to anything other than Bryan Adam's Greatest Hits, The Forrest Gump Soundtrack and Aerosmith's Pump, my introduction to indie-rock was a slow and painful one. As I found my way from Nevermind to Nico, there were a few bands that always stood out as the touchstones. The bands that all the other bands were stealing from. Here are a few classics. Name drop them around most record store clerks and they'll teach you a secret handshake and [...]

I just wanted to point out that not all punk is DIY (e.g. this ) and not all DIY is punk (e.g. this ). It just so happens (guh?) that Beat Happening is both. Quick question: Is not having a bio on your own fucking website punk? or is it just lazy? hmmm? Downloadables: "In Between" (mp3) "Left Behind" (mp3) "Teenage Caveman" (mp3) "Indian Summer" (mov) [...]

Olympia, Washington : Angered, Sweden; Monotone, Verbose : Lilting, Frail. At least that's what Jens Lekman's riveting homage to the Beat Happening track would suggest.

The Final Top Ten! The results are in! First of all, I just want to thank all of you that contributed. I never expected to have that many nominations/votes, it was just fantastic! So thanks! But enough of that, below is the Top Ten you've all been waiting to see. You all chose these bands, and thusly, according to you, this is the Royal Court Of Twee ! If you're unfamiliar with these bands, or wondering why they , out of [...]
Here we go. Another short list of items I've been really enjoying over the last few months. I've done this before. Twice actually. But it's been a year since the last time. So I thought I'd share with you a few things I've been diggin'. Chris Tim's Atomic Energy mix: Friends Chris and Tim produced a wonderful mix in early 2005 and I just recently re-discovered it. Wow. What you see on Tim's blog
Fuco Ueda Oh, I most certainly used to be this kind of girl, all awkward closed mouth on campus in headphones and rolling around on my bed with argyle socks sticking up in the air while I read mix-tape liner notes written special by friends. Sometimes, at my most giddy (with a secret place in my heart [...]

I know alot of other sites do semi-regular covers features, and so far I've been resisting the urge. Now, in the steamy home stretch of summer, I fear the tension between me and cover versions is just too great to deny. I can't take all these longing gazes, sleepless nights, and petty arguments springing from nowhere, any longer. While common decency won't let me do this on a regular basis, I need a release. So here, in an abundant, unthinking burst I give you more cover love than you can possibly handle. Hopefully things won't [...]
