The winter months having you feeling a bit down? News of the upcoming Jamie Lidell release will put a little pep into even the most frigid of gaits. Hearing of the new release, excitement started to boil up; just how will Lidell follow up the 2007 release Jim, which featured background vocals by Nikka Acosta, and collaborators Beck, Mocky, and Gonzalez? In short, with some of today's most exhilarating artists. After working with Beck and his most recent Record Club recording , Lidell kept the party going with recordings for his own solo-release, [...]

Charlotte Gainsbourg - Heaven Can Wait (Nosaj Thing Remix) [See post to listen to audio] I rarely post videos on here, but if I did, I would definitely had featured Beck & Charlotte Gainsbourg 's video for Heaven Can Wait . Their acoustic creation made sense in an unsettling way when paired with the video's blend of absurd footage and moody faces from the two. Ever since watching that video I've felt that the original track begs for a quirky sidekick. Just that little something [...]
The electro-soul bending wizard has returned with the quickness of lightning. With the help of his calvary (including Beck, Feist, Grizzly Bear Chris Taylor, James Gadson, Daniel Rossen and others) his alchemy of funk, soul, electro and holleration can be heard on this new track "Compass." Much like its predecessors, the soulful vibe have been [...]

Filed under: News , New Music Genre-bending performer Jamie Lidell has recruited Beck and Feist to appear on his third studio disc, 'Compass,' which is expected on May 18. Also boasting high caliber guests like Wilco 's Pat Sansone and Grizzly Bear 's Chris Taylor, sessions for the disc were an outgrowth of the work he did with Beck last year covering Skip Spence 's 1969 album 'Oar' as part of the Record Club series . "I wrote every [...]

Por isso, como sou the boss of this shit , me permito quebrar a regra e fazer uma MIXTAPE DUPLA E COM BONUS TRACK. 12 + 12 + 1 = 25 músicas! AE!

Filed under: News Rumours are circulating across the internet that Radiohead have recorded a new album after a blog post by L.A. Times contributor Jia-Rui Cook claimed that the band had been recording for three weeks in the Hollywood Hills. According to Cook, the band and long-term producer Nigel Godrich held a wrap party on Jan. 30 in a house that had been specially converted into a studio. Cook wrote: "Bryan [Cook, engineer] helped transform a house in the Hollywood Hills into a recording [...]

"Dixie Peach Promenade" is the most recently released song from Beck's Record Club's latest project: Skip Spence's Oar . As I noted in the post for the track "Little Hands" in this project, Beck is joined by Wilco, Jamie Lidell, and Feist. On this track, Jeff Tweedy from Wilco tackles the lead vocals and the group produce this funky little jam. It's a loose and groovy track that ends with the group breaking into Ace of Base's "All That She Wants" briefly as an outro. There are two more tracks left to [...]

Would I have sex with Aziz Ansari? Ever since I got a hold of his DVD ( Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening/BUY NOW ) I've questioned my racist views. Now, I'm not really racist, it's just that being brown/mega foreign myself, I tend to not go for the un-blond-blue-eyed individual. I'll be honest, this one is a toughie, I mean, there's no doubt that Aziz is hilarious and just down right awesome, but he is foreign looking, and would I want to put my kids through looking foreign? I don't think so. Although, what if Aziz is extremely charming, [...]

Filed under: News , Holy Hell As word spread last month about Memphis garage rocker Jay Reatard 's untimely passing, one question still remained: why did he die at just 29 years old? Fans got their answer Wednesday, as Memphis' Commercial Appeal reports that the autopsy results were released this morning. Sadly, Shelby County Medical Examiner Dr. Karen E. Chancellor found that Reatard died from "cocaine toxicity, and that alcohol was a contributing factor in his death." The prolific musician, whose real [...]
These are great records made by hunky, young things. We love them in spite of their inherent boy-band-ism. This is an instance where our tastes align with 13 year-old girls'.
French singer/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg titled her latest album, IRM , for the scanner that regularly probed her brain for two years following a cerebral hemorrhage (IRM is the French abbreviation for MRI). Naturally, themes of helplessness, mortality, and survival run through the 13-song set ("It doesn't take a miracle to raise a heart from the dead," the songstress croons on "Time of the Assassins"). To take on such somber subject matter, Gainsbourg – daughter of the late legendary French singer Serge Gainsbourg – tapped Beck as her chief collaborator. Not only is Beck an admirer of Gainsbourg [...]
