Ahead of the PINK's concert this Thursday, office banter reminded me that the BECK co-wrote FEEL GOOD TIME with WILLY ORBIT and demoed it for his own album before before the she-popper recorded it for the Charlie's Angels soundtrack. For a mo there I felt sorry for the PINK that the BECK 's much-better surfaced, but then I remembered she killing the ADAM LAMBERT's rendition of WHATAYA WANT FROM ME.

Muse That's right! Debut month continues as we welcome another song to the big show. Hehe. That's what they call the Major Leagues in baseball. I'm implying that my countdown podcast is as attractive to these bands as making it to the major leagues. I'm truly a humble, handsome man. Countdown #148 ***Featuring*** Beck Capital Cities Imagine Dragons The Lumineers Mumford & Sons Muse The Neighbourhood Of Monsters and Men Silversun Pickups Thirty Seconds to Mars
Today we look at Return of the Grievous Angel: A Tribute to Gram Parsons, one of the heavy influences on "No Depression" music, or what he called "Cosmic American."

"The Vinyl Countdown" Folk-pop sextet The Crayon Set are probably more preoccupied this week with preparing to release a record than to think about going vinyl shopping as they ready themselves to launch début long-player The Crayon Set in Whelan's on Sunday night. Or so you would think. Step forward fellow g-man George Guilfoyle, nominated by his cohorts as the most record-savvy crayon of the box. Here's what George thinks about the whole deal. [...]
![Great Albums With Embarrassingly Bad Cover Art [NSFW]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4899149_lg.jpg)
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Mosquito is officially on the shelves, and our first impressions of the record haven't changed much: we rather like it. The cover art, though... well, that's an entirely different matter. We're sure there's some reasoning behind adorning the sleeve with a lurid pink giant mosquito sinking its proboscis into the ass of a baby (a baby with green lipstick on, we hasten to add), but until we know what it is, the album is going straight to the top of our list of great [...]
Royal Canoe tackle Beck's sheet music. Experimental pop band Royal Canoe will release their debut LP Today We're Believers on June 25th through Roll Call Records. But promotion of that album hasn't barred...

If Beck-era "Sea Change" was actually written by Kevin Devine while he was high as hell and listening to a lot of Fiona Apple, he may've been Danny Malone. The Austin singer-songwriter just dropped the video for new single "Spiderlegs," a '90s-inspired piece showing Danny in his element -a barn where he actually resides and hosts a lot of shows- with just about everything a man would ever need: women, drinks, drugs, and a guitar. The low-lit scenes of Danny and his arm candy cutting lines and sipping from the bottle, kissed with jerky stop-motion and blurred out shots [...]

Imagine Dragons Pay close attention to this episode. You can hear my voice start strong, proving that my health is almost back to normal, and then get gradually weaker as the evening that I recorded most of it progresses and you start to hear how I sound when I've been up for too long! At this point, it's going to be weird when a new song DOESN'T debut on an episode. We're on the third episode in a row to have a new song on the chart :) [...]
When's the last time you put some music on, sat down, and just listened? Disqualify yourself if you: read a magazine/book, turned on the television, played a video game, checked your email, texted somebody. I bet it's been a while, eh? What's that? You've never done it? Hey, don't feel bad. I bet you're in the vast majority of listeners. [...]

Atlas Genius I don't know if you'll believe it based on the quality of my voice at some points in this podcast, but I am actually feeling better! It's just that annoying thing where the remnants of colds stick around for weeks. So annoying. Hopefully you won't be annoyed by this week's countdown, though! (I don't know why you would be....I mean, it's a pretty silly thing to be annoyed at. I was just making a smooth transition.) April's "Debut-Every-Week" trend continues! Enjoy it! [...]
