In today's "No, I Never Wondered What That Would Sound Like" news, a member of Vampire Weekend mashed Beirut' s "Scenic World" with Katy Perry' s "Hot N Cold" . Rostam Batmanglij is man of interesting taste. When asked to DJ parties, he'd play this little mash-up he made a few years ago, and today he's finally decided to share it with the rest of us. It's an odd little mash that takes Katy Perry to the lobby of some Eastern European hotel in the '90s.

Despite almost no escape from hot venues and high heat, Portland showed their love for live shows at MusicfestNW.
Yesterday, Portland's MusicFestNW wrapped up five days of concerts at over a dozen venues throughout the city. Among the acts who performed were Passion Pit, Beirut, Girl Talk, Dinosaur Jr., Flying Lotus, Swans, Fucked Up, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Wild Nothing, Purity Ring, and DIIV.
