A beautiful song and a beautiful video. The latest clip from Beirut for their 2011 album's title track was directed by Houmam Abdallah. Take a look at the music video of my favorite song from the band's LP, " Santa Fe ".
It's a life after death of sorts for Beirut 's The Rip Tide album, which reached our top spot this past year in terms of albums. As the album slowly slipped away from us in 2012, this video has rekindled our lost love for this remarkable collection from the indie scene's most treasured artists. Beirut's video for The Rip Tide 's title-track is one of the most beautiful and serene videos we've seen since Bon Iver's "Holocene" . As shown below, a ship slowly rocks in the [...]

Beirut : The Rip Tide - Video

This video for the title track off Beirut 's latest album starts off with some gorgeous footage of a boat on the open water. It's simple and peaceful, and then at 2:50, it reaches that elusive next level. Says Zach Condon: I always felt that "The Rip Tide" wasn't fully able to project its own ambitions in song form.. no matter how it was performed or recorded, it felt contained by sound alone... I wanted more, as I often do with my music, and this is not a bad thing. Growing to accept a song's [...]
Check out Beirut's newest addition to his artistic ways with the official video for 'The Rip Tide'. Zach Condon has this to say about the song and new video... "I always felt that 'The Rip Tide' wasn't fully able to project its own ambitions in song form . . . no matter how it was performed or recorded, it felt contained by sound alone. . . I wanted more, as I often do with my music, and this is not a bad thing. Growing to accept a song's limits is part of the [...]
The title track from last year's Beirut LP The Rip Tide finally gets the seafaring video of Zach Condon's dreams. It's directed by Houmam Abdallah and comes with an explanatory note from Mr. Condon - though the most important note of all for the impatient is to sit tight until the three minute mark. Once you do that, you will get why I now call this song "The Rip Tie-Die." Read More...

Almost the weekend, almost time to sail away. And wot better way to welcome it than with the BEIRUT 's summery new video, THE RIP TIDE .
Having just watched Terrence Malick's 'Days of Heaven' and being spellbound by some of the imagery, this new Beirut video perfectly spills into my morning with more beautiful eye candy. I know that I've hit the back button on the track form the album that bears the same name more times than I care to admit - I've got a feeling I'll be doing the same with this video. Enjoy!
It's been about a year since Beirut dropped their fourth album The Rip Tide and they're still dropping gorgeous videos for it. This time, for the album's title track, it's a solitary boat sailing through the sea as wonderfully-simplistic yet beautifully-striking imagery is being played out above the horizon. Director Houmam Abdallah brings Beirut' s lush title track to life for their latest video supporting last year's The Rip Tide . Over sun-crusted waves and amidst a breezy day, a lone sailboat cuts to the ocean's core with sleek precision. Frontman Zach Condon posted a message on the video: I always felt that "The Rip Tide" wasn't fully able to project its own ambitions in song form.. no matter how it was performed or recorded, it felt contained by sound alone...
