Anyone who's spent very much time in Kentucky has probably heard their fair share of banjo, but how many of us can say we've heard a banjoist who draws much of her inspiration from Chinese culture? That's exactly what you get with Abigail Washburn , a 34-year-old veteran of the bluegrass scene who, in 1996, spent time living in China with hopes of studying law in Beijing. Out of a desire to have something distinctly American with her as she traveled abroad, Washburn took a banjo with her to the Far East. When she returned, she brought home a [...]

You may recognize Ben Sollee from his work with Daniel Martin Moore on Dear Companion , an album [...]

Bela Fleck - Spain Chick Corea gets the Bela Anton Leos Fleck treatment here. That's right - Bela Anton Leos. As in Bartok, Webern, Janacek. Even middle school bullies wouldn't know what to do with this.
