BELOVED ROGUECould it be? A three piece set from none other than Brooklyn? I think so. The name of this band is Beloved Rogue and they are strikingly palatable. If you are into that dream like meandering state look no further than this band because they will be right up your alley. The featured song is "Capital Sense" and is off their three song EP titled Polaurora which has already came out

Beloved Rogue is a newly formed Brooklyn trio making music full of hazy imagery with hints of nostalgia and melancholy. Heavily reverbed vocals are buried under layers of delicate, melodic guitars that occasionally disintegrate into waves of fuzz and feedback. The songs play with combinations of soft and loud/epic and are tinged at all edges with pop sensibilities giving nods to influences like Ride, Autolux & Lilys. In late 2009, Beloved Rogue released their debut EP - Polaurora, along with a 73, featuring "Daysleeping" b/w "Amber" off the EP. With more recording underway, the band is already [...]

Alex from Beloved Rogue sent over the Polaurora EP his band just finished put out in December. He tells us the band's dreamy guitar rock was influenced by the likes of Ride, Slowdive, Lilys and Autolux. At the same time it manages to ride that lo-fi wave sound that is so hot right now (or at least was last Summer). Sure a lot of taste-makers have begun to look past the genre, but I'm still not completely done with it --especially when a band focuses more on guitar skills than dance beats. The EP is available for free [...]

Beloved Rogue - Capital Sense [mp3] Beloved Rogue are a trio from Brooklyn who seem to have a deep affection for vintage shoegazer bands like Ride and Swervedriver. If you've read this blog for more than a minute than you might know that I'm a sucker for this kind of sound. Last fall the band released the three track ep Polaurora and they have a 7" available now at Insound . "Daysleeping" video and live dates below. More on the band here . [...]
Beloved Rogue - Capital Sense (mp3)

A trio of passionate, young fellows from NYC named Beloved Rogue have a new, free EP out, and you should hear it.The sound isn't anything novel: A mix of 90s alt rock sensibilities with a wink to shoegaze's sweeter side. However, the songwriting is solid as a rock. The band knows how to flesh songs out, too. There's not one track under five minutes, and not a moment of boredom in sight. You can

Not a huge fan of the band name but the music has some nice dreamy qualities to it. I guess you could call this shoegaze, but it has a lot of melody to it, nothing too drowned out. This song just has a decent strolling and jangly rythym guitar line to it, a nice way to wash away the workday. Get their new EP and check out the rest of the music. You can tell when a bit's falling flat usually by midweek...like this one is. I tell ya, the vinyl collectors and the blog frequenters are one quiet bunch. Hundreds and hundreds of these 'Rate That Record' downloads later—nary a peep in response. I don't get it... Perhaps I need to snap some pictures of my meal at some local hot spot. Shoot some kissy face photos or better yet photograph 'The Door of the Day.' Whee. Or ponder the nature of the struggling transit system. Or discuss PMS and shoes. That – THAT will engender comments, [...]
