Ben Gibbard played a solo show at Noise Pop Festival, and during that performance he took advantage of the crowd to test out new material from Death Cab for Cutie's upcoming LP, Codes and Keys . Interviews have revealed that this album aims to be less guitar-centric, and so far the title track proves just that: it's played entirely on piano. Featuring Gibbard's trademark melodic voice and descriptive lyricism, "Codes and Keys" manages to move DCFC into a different medium while staying within the same tone.
