Today we are excited to add three additional, and very talented musicians, to IRC's on-going One... Check out Indie Rock Cafe for more songs, artist and band profiles, playlists and videos.

Ack! Another new weekly thing! I don't know why I torture myself in putting up weekly recurring posts even though I rarely post them up on time. But this one you'll love (I hope!). Though it may not seem so, we are actually an Indie Music Database (hence the db search section at the top). As I work towards getting our database beefed up, I encourage you to browse through the many artists on the site by this weekly album post. If you guys are anything like me, album covers always pique my interest whether or not I know the [...]

Welcome to the Musical Pairings @ eating/sf: february mix. This one features a lot of the music that I've been listening to since the first of the year - except that I left Spoon , Yeasayer and Sleigh Bells off (primarily since they have already been gracing these pages a lot in the past few weeks). I think there is a fair amount of great new music on here - as well as a few old favorites including a couple that I'd dug out following conversations with friends or through listening to their mixes. Wiretree is an Austin, Texas based 4-piece that writes upbeat, melodic pop songs that succeed equally as a result of their crisp simplicity as well as for their thoughtfully prepared arrangements. Obvious comparisons include Wilco, George Harrison, and Field Music. They released their sophomore effort, Luck , earlier this week. Check em out, I think you'll like what you hear: MP3: Wiretree - Back In Town ~~ Cold Cave is a Philly/New York trio that create darkwave synth pop that balances the sounds of [...]

"The band, not being a real band, consequently never formed. And so, there is little to tell about its history." With this brilliant short intro on his last.fm page (and a lucky email nudge) I was introduced to the beautifully warm and reassuring music of Ben Romvari. A talented Canadian web designer-turned recording engineer and even more so indie singer-songwriter, he has released two records thus far: Nocturnal Fables and Illusions and the Trust EP. What can you expect from an imaginary band? Is it like [...]

After staying up yesterday and watching so much football I was seeing double. The Canes continue to develop into a fantastic team (it's all about that U baby!), Iowa held on against the other U of M, Florida State continues to deteriorate, and well Florida played hard enough to get by. In addition to that I crammed a few hours of The President's Cup into the mix. Golf is generally BORING to watch, but when you put the players in a vice grip and compete for points and pride, something happens...golf becomes exciting. Anyway, after all that I [...]
