Well, it looks like Summer Slaughter is really shaping up the "most extreme tour of the year," with the already announced acts: Cannibal Corpse, Between The Buried And Me, The Faceless and the just announced mid-card act: Exhumed. Fuck yes! Exhumed's last album, All Guts, No Glory was fantastic, and in constant rotation for this ...
Summer Slaughter has been officially announcing one new band that will be on the bill every Sunday for the past three Sundays. And while a) the bill is great and b) that's a very clever way to make sure everyone is talking about the tour around the water cooler each and every Monday morning, it [...]
As promised, every Sunday, the organizers of Summer Slaughter will be revealing another band on the tour. Last week, Cannibal Corpse and Between The Buried And Me were announced as headliners and this week, we kick off the support band announcements with The Faceless. One would assume that The Faceless would be done with their ...
The Faceless have been confirmed for Summer Slaughter 2012. That's not shocking news, seeing as the band - like the fest's previously announced co-headliners, Cannibal Corpse and Between the Buried and Me - have been rumored to be participating in the tour for three weeks now. But it is still good news! Anyone who complains [...]
We've been speculating that Cannibal Corpse and Between The Buried and Me would be the headliners for the 2012 edition of the Summer Slaughter tour, and today we can officially confirm that as fact. The Summer Slaughter Facebook page, which has become the main hub for all Slaughter-related news released the photo attached to this ...
The rumors are true: Cannibal Corpse and Between the Buried and Me will co-headline this year's edition of the Summer Slaughter festour. BTBAM and The Corpse obviously play very, very different forms of death metal, but they're both great. It's hard to imagine any metal fan who isn't a total fun-hating grump not being excited [...]
:: Members of R.E.M., The Drive-By Truckers and others are squaring off against Walmart in their hometown of Athens, Ga. :: Lamb of God 's new album No Resolution debuted at number 3 on the Top 200 Billboard Chart. :: Sri Lankan siren M.I.A. released a new song from her upcoming album called Bad Girls . :: Protest the Hero will hit the road with Periphery for a spring tour. :: [...]
The word on the street is that two of the headliners for this year's Summer Slaughter Tour are Between the Buried and Me and Cannibal Corpse! Whoever runs the Summer Slaughter Facebook page posted some cryptic messages back in December, but no one picked up on them due to all the crazy partying that took place ...
Out of all of the big summer package tours, Summer Slaughter has easily become our favorite; it's so much fun every year that we're even willing to forgive the to-be-expected presence of some bands we can't stand (e.g., Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, etc.), because the rest of the line-up built around them is usually [...]
The fine lads in Between The Buried and Me have posted this photo to their Facebook page, which is of a folder labeled Parallax 2. Being as though their last EP was called The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to put together that this means that work has begun ont he sequel ...
Once the dust settled, the excitement of brand new music wore off and everyone had time to digest and evaluate Between the Buried and Me's 2011 EP The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues, what did you guys think of it? I know a couple of people who swear it's one of their favorite BTBAM releases to date, but [...]
Blake Richardson has guns. Lots of guns. So you know what you should probably buy him for Christmas, right? MORE BULLETS.
Behold Plant Vochestra, the best metal side-project since Ladder Up An Ass! Like Ladder Up An Ass, Plant Vochestra also happens to feature two of the lovable goons in The Red Chord, along with Between the Buried and Me vocalist Tommy Rogers. The Red Chord played a hometown one-off at the opening date of the [...]
YOU GUYS! They were back for one night only. Plant Vochestra, the improv group which consists of Tommy Rogers of Between The Buried and Me, Greg Weeks & Mike "Gunface" McKenzie of The Red Chord had a rare performance this weekend in Worcester, MA when the Red Chord opened a one-off of the current Saints ...
Metalgf and I visited Alaska this past June and had one of the best vacations of our lives. Metal was few and far between, but that's a good thing when your job involves listening to dozens of metal bands every single day; aside from a dude in a Meshuggah hoodie I randomly saw at a [...]
Not Seth Putnam One mind-blowing aspect of Devin Townsend's Deconstruction album is its coterie of guest personnel. A who's-who of pivotal screamers, the list includes that awesome dude from Gojira, legendary super-stud Ihsahn, and extreme metal's loveliest alto, Tommy Rogers from Between The Buried And Me. And though Townsend rightly rushes to downplay the distraction/sketchy [...]
We caught up with Tommy Giles Rogers + Paul Waggoner of Between The Buried And Me to talk about their new EP, The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues. LONG WORDS.
While no official release has been made about the bill for 2011's Saints and Sinners Festival in Asbury Park
