After Clash guitarist Mick Jones parted ways with his former mates he started Big Audio Dynamite with film director, musician and DJ Don Letts. Throughout the mid-802s and 902s the band recorded a handful of excellent records and created a body of work that drew on many of the same musical and cultural influences as The Clash: rock, hip-hop, reggae, punk and DJ culture. Having recently completed a UK tour , the reunited Big Audio Dynamite have announced a run of dates in the United States in August. The groundbreaking rock/hip hop/reggae outfit was formed by Mick Jones after parting ways with The Clash . The original group formed in 1984 and dispersed in 1988.
