Sad news from the Birds & Batteries camp recently: with two members leaving, the band's upcoming show this Friday, November 16th, is now their final show with the current lineup and the final B&B show for the near future. On the positive front, bandleader Mike Sempert promises that he's working on plenty of new music, and let's hope Birds & Batteries will return at some point too. In any event, the band is playing on Friday with DOOMbird and DJ oWNERSHIP at 1772 Market Street [...]
Although I wasn't the biggest fan of Birds & Batteries' new album, Stray Light , I'm not going to overlook the opportunity of someone else to change my opinion. That's why I think it's important we pay close attention to the DOOMbird Remix of Birds & [...]

With their new album Stray Light, Birds & Batteries hold on to their diverse cocktail of folk Americana and M83-quality electronic, but have embraced the not-quite-cheesy-but-almost-th ere ‘80s pop harmonies.
Birds & Batteries have released a new song, "The Golden Age of Dreams", from their upcoming album, Stray Light, out August 7th via Eightmaps. The new song swirls in a colorful medley of synthesizers while Michael Sempert's baritone adds a little danger. Download "The Golden Age of Dreams" below. Tour Dates:

Birds & Batteries new single, The Golden Age of Dreams, begins as if a scene of a barren wasteland is being set. Simple synths set the backdrop to a seemingly wide open space, covered with reassuring lyrics of a promising future. Slowly, the song builds until it becomes one grand piece of work that really puts you in the mood to accomplish something meaningful. The more times that I listened to The Golden Age of Dreams, the more '80s it began to sound. I imagined hearing this at the end of some sort of victorious movie soundtrack. Something along the [...]
With the heat of summer comes the need for sweaty dance parties, and I think I found another track for your summertime playlist, courtesy of Birds & Batteries . This song comes from the group's forthcoming LP, Stray Light , which hits the streets on August 7th. There's hints of Twin Shadow , if you're looking for a comparison, but you get the feeling that the songs on this record will hit a lot harder! The band just released a new video for this single as well, and you [...]

![[Premiere] Birds & Batteries Remix Peter Wolf Crier](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4097938_lg.jpg)
I'm excited to premiere the Birds & Batteries remix of Peter Wolf Crier 's Right Away off their album Garden of Arms . Birds & Batteries gave the original track a real atmospheric sound with fluid bass tones, punctuated drum beats and synth to give the original reverse guitar loops more of a rhythmic feel. I like that it doesn't stray too far from the original sound, while maintaining the melodic structure - the remix acts as a sort of elastic, stretching [...]

Birds & Batteries - Strange Kind of Mirror An album from Birds & Batteries called Panorama, released just over a year ago. Theirs appeals to me as long-lasting music that would fit in a cd case that only contains good albums. [bandcamp album=1964876789 bgcol=ffc00f linkcol=000000 size=tall] until everyone logs out and savours their taste for what their taste is rather than for what it isn't, the sooner the huge record [...]

Birds & Batteries- We’re an Industry

I'm feeling pretty good about this playlist, take the time to check out a few songs 1. Shiv Hurrah- All my teeth fell out I've got this bad habit of forgetting to give a track list to my friends when i burn a mix for them. At least five times i've had someone call me up and ask "who sings the song that goes 'i had a dream that all my teeth fell out as i was just about to [...]

Careless isn’t the first thing you might expect from a new Birds & Batteries record. After all, the group have dominated San Francisco, with sold out shows and headlining the Bay's dirtiest rock clubs. But Panorama couldn’t live up to its title more: It’s expanded the bands' sound and is gleaming with pop sensibility and powerful execution. The songs move effortlessly from the epic grandeur of early harmonized folk pop to the foot tapping groove of Beach Boys loftiness but all with a very clear sense of self actualization. Birds & Batteries know how [...]
