I don't think that there's any question that the dudes in Black Dice are just trying to mess with us. I mean, their newest album Repo is filled with spastic electro-noise that whirrs, pulses, and screeches in an oddly organic way like it's the soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic dance party. Rolling through town will be Black Dice, but it's no gamble. The densely layered electronic/experimental/funk makes a Black Dice experience an intense experience. Like going headfirst down the waterslide while the chlorine rushes up your nostrils and all that's left to think about is the pounding of the psychedelic plastic and last night's lasagna. According to my iPhone calendar, June is going to be a busy month for DFW live-music-fans.
