Fresh off one of the year's best hip-hop singles to date , Detroit's Black Milk is set to drop one of the very few essential Record Store Day releases from this year's selection , in the form of his vinyl-only Synth or Soul 123 . Listen to a track from each of the Small Wonder -referencing 12-inch's two distinct sides below. Synth or Soul is out on RSD (April [...]

Black Milk collaborates with illustrator Upendo “Pen” Taylor (Nike, Leroy Jenkins, Gatorade) for the music-meets-visual instrumental/art series Fuzz, Freqs & Colors (FFC). Synth or Soul is the first volume in the FFC series. The process for each volume starts with Black and Pen trading beats and sketches and refining their works along the way. Throughout that exchange, the music is shaped by the visual art and the visual art is shaped by the music. FFC is the first project launched by the new creative house Computer Ugly. http://computerugly.com/ [...]

![Black Milk – Sunday’s Best/Monday’s Worst [New Release]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4873450_lg.jpg)
One of my favorite producer/mc's Detriot's very own Black Milk just released this two part single Sunday's Best/Monday's Worst. Sunday's best tells the all to fimialar story of those Sunday mornings being draged to church by your parents as an adolscents when every thing going on is just way over your all the way to a disilluioned rebellious teen influced by the streets. Monday's best picks up years later with the same youth now full grown professional stick up kid going to work on a Monday night to catch a would-be baller coming out of the club flossing [...]
It seems that Black Milk has provided us with a nice little two for-one deal in the form of his latest song "Sunday's Best/Monday's Worst. A better value than say, Domino's Two for Tuesday promotion, we are treated to a tasty sampling of two soulful hip-hop tracks in one. The ... Read More
Go Black go !
Today's music ain't afraid of no ghosts. Enjoy. : Kurt Vile - Never Run Away : This track served as the pleasant surprise of my weekend. It's light and as sing-a-long worthy as can be, and I don't have issue at all with calling it my favorite Kurt Vile effort. Walkin' On A Pretty Daze is due out on April 9 via Matador . : Anamanaguchi - Planet : If you've ever thought of Anamanaguchi as a band that only makes nerdy video game songs, then this track will [...]
Black Milk releases Sunday's Best / Monday's worst, the first single off his upcoming solo album

A new face to this blog is rapper Black Milk , who has been around for awhile but for some reason I've been sleeping on his material. His latest track is called "Sunday's Best/Monday's Worst" and I've been listening to this off an on the last two days. After checking out his previous material, one thing I learned is that he enjoys experimenting with sounds and trying new things. He doesn't recycle the same formula over and over, which is awesome. The gospel samples and mellow vibes, plus his reflective flow will get you nodding your head the whole [...]
You've been waiting around for new solo Black Milk material for a while now, I know. It's been since 2010 that Album of the Year dropped, a project that strayed from the sound of 2008's Tronic, because that's what he does. Milk isn't the type of rapper who keeps throwing...

The top mp3s have gone through many incarnations since the beginning of Consequence of Sound in 2007. What used to be an exhaustive roundup of all the singles, remixes, covers, and undiscovered gems emailed to us any given week evolved into a compilation whittled down to our 10 favorite new songs. For 2013, we’re again changing up the format with the hope of giving our selections some added weight. We’re still posting about our 10 favorite songs, but they’ll be ordered in quality from 10-1. Who takes home #1 this week? You’ll have to click ‘Next’ to find [...]
Today's delivery is brought to you by Black Milk . This detroit MC seems to have taken a little break as we haven't had any major releases from him as of late. He's done a few collaborations but nothing really on his own but is expected to drop his latest solo album this upcoming summer. The track I'm bringing to you today is actually a double track stitched together. The first half is called "Sunday's Best" and the second half is called "Monday's Worst". But tracks have an underlying soulfulness and "Sunday's Best" even incorporates the sound of a live gospel band. And, lyrically you can get [...]

It has been some time since we have heard some new solo heat from Detroit emcee Black Milk . Breaking his silence today, he drops a new lead single titled "Sunday's Best, Monday's Worst". It has been almost 3 years since Milk's last solo effort Album of the Year and with his latest track, he takes listeners to church. JDilla 's disciple combines two songs as one continuous piece of dope music. The first part "Sunday's best" is a gospel-laced with an underground appeal and the second part "Monday's Best" brings the reverse, soulful tune that tells a sombre story. [...]

Ahead of an as yet untitled and unscheduled album, Black Milk aka Curtis Cross has released new track 'Sunday’s Best / Monday's Worst'. The Dilla disciple serves up a double helping of banging Detroit beats that are guaranteed to stir interest in a rumoured summer album. The track is streaming now on Soundcloud: (via Stereogum )

Black Milk has just dropped a nice little two-part ditty, 'Sunday’s Best/Monday’s Worst'. This tune's got a bit of a gospel vibe to it, particularly in part one (that's the Sunday part... makes sense, doesn't it). But the optimism of Sunday morning swaps place with a more sombre beat in part two (I don't know if this part is 'Monday', but it certainly feels like it. Damn you, Monday). The beats are on point, regardless of what day of the week it is, and Black's rhymes seem a little more polished [...]

Black Milk is back. Giving us a release of his double single 'Sunday's Best/Monday's Worst' . CHeck it out below.
If I were a betting man, I'd put 100 bucks on Black Milk never putting out anything wack. He's just as consistent as they get. BM sounds like a modern-day [...] The post Black Milk - “Sunday’s Best / Monday’s Worst” appeared first on The Smoking Section .

Detroit hip-hop producer Curtis Cross, aka Black Milk , returns with a new two-part track, "Sunday's Best / Monday's Worst". The soulful tracks depict a personal, heartfelt story about faith, conviction, redemption, and freewill told over two days. Cross ruminates over his own hypocrisy before the man upstairs, attributing such fates to situational differences. As the choir instructs throughout, "It's never too late to get your values straight - do you believe me, baby?" Search your loins and stream the whole thing below. Black Milk will drop his sixth studio album [...]
