Conifers - Legs And Arms British IDM project ' Conifers ' might have released only one song, but that's all its taken for some clear Tunng/Black Moth Super Rainbow comparisons to come out on their gentle forays in to electronic folk music. 'Legs And Arms' is predominantly acoustic - but is characterised by a pitch shifting melody and chattering tribal percussion which, taken together, dance into the depths of nature-induced Eastern psychedelia. A debut album is rumoured to be in the works. Conifers - Legs And Arms ( MP3 [...]

Black Moth Super Rainbow hold a secure place in my heart as a band I'd love to see live but have, on several occasions, missed. With a new album coming out next year, Psychic Love Damage , there are definitely things to look forward to for BMSR fans. I noticed just now that the teaser they posted for the new album had yet to be posted on Earmilk (I saw it and thought about posting it a while back, and then probably got distracted by porn or work or work porn or something), so it only seemed appropriate to [...]

After a long hiatus, Black Moth Super Rainbow is heading out on tour. We caught them a while back at the Red Barn in Lexington and it was one of our favorite shows of the year. This time around, they will be back in Lexington, playing at Cosmic Charlie's . This is probably one that we will make the short hop down there to see. Get tix here . BMSR- " Born on the [...]

Our favorite weirdo, psychedelic band, Black Moth Super Rainbow, have been hard at work on their next full length album tentatively titled Psychic Love Damage. Frontman TOBACCO has been recently teasing fans via his Twitter with video clips of demos in progress from the recording sessions of the new album and has recently released a 40 sec teaser clip featuring more demos of songs from the upcoming album on the band's Soundcloud page, which you can listen to below. Sadly, the new album will not be ready until sometime next year. However, the band has [...]

Hey! Thought we forgot about this, eh? Nah... Next time I leave the country for a month, I will also leave access to the hard drive where all my files are located. So we're still aiming to re-post all of the Blogophilia volumes by summer's end. Today we have volumes 5 & 6, which feature promotional MP3s available during May and June of 2009. As always, these are gapless mixes with cover art. These are only up for a limited time, so get them now! - [...]

Considering all the buzz they've received over the past few months and the gigs they've played supporting the likes of The Decemberists, Iron & Wine and Death Cab For Cutie, it's hard to believe that The Head And The Heart have yet to go out on a headlining tour of their own. The Seattle-based act, who released their self-titled debut earlier this year, will finally embark on their first-ever headlining run this fall, with Thao and the Get Down Stay Down offering support. The [...]

Today's Double Dip is brought to you by an old favorite who has just learned some new tricks and I for one am truly ecstatic. The first post I ever did for Earmilk was on a face melter named Tobacco , who truly propelled me into the world of weird, if you are unaware of Tobacco you may be aware of his previous project Black Moth Super Rainbow , if you arent aware of either you should definitely go out and buy some albums. Take a listen and you'll understand [...]

Black Moth Super Rainbow announced on the website yesterday that they are back! But did they ever really feel gone? With a plethora of solo endeavors, the strange indie band has remained a force to be reckoned with. It's been a while since their last tour, but fans won't have to wait much longer. They'll be hitting the road again in September (schedule is below). In addition, the band recently re-released their Dandelion Gum album as a deluxe edition. Black Moth Super Rainbow tour dates: Sep 7 - [...]
After two years off spent focusing on solo material, Black Moth Super Rainbow have officially reunited. And they already have a new record in the works, tentatively titled Psychic Love Damage , that will serve as the follow-up to 2009's very good Eating Us . This reformation of BMSR also comes with a new lineup, which consists of core members Tobacco, Seven Fields of Aphelion and Ryan Graveface and newcomer Iffernaut. That's all we know for now, though it will prove interesting what Iffernaut can bring to the band's psych and synth-heavy sound. Also, [...]
Black Moth Super Rainbow mastermind, Tobacco premiered yet another new tune in the works from his follow up album to 2010's Maniac Meat , Spirits of Perversion last night on Sirius XMU . The new tune "Blow Your Heart" was first previewed at this year's Austin Psych Fest (above) and now you can check out the demo that aired on the radio below. Sirius XMU stated, " TOBACCO just emailed us a new track he's working on. Ima gonna debut it on Sirius XMU ch. 35 [...]
Tobacco , Black Super Moth's frontman, Tom Fec, last year released Maniac Meat , an energetic, dark fantasy. In the fall, he'll be travelling to Cleveland to begin his tour. [ via ] Until then, he has given us "Streaker" featuring Notrabel. Robotic screams accompany the track's heavy synth and tapped out leads. Brian LeBarton , Beck collaborator, belts, "...if you feel like someone's coming," and that's what it feels like. The song is darkly lit and it's as if you're being run down by a robot in the alley way. It's grimy, head-nodding, marinate [...]

After a two year break, Black Moth Super Rainbow is set to head back out on the road, and is even in the process of recording a new album! To keep fans connected, the band has set up a soundcloud page where they will post unreleased material, teasers, and outtakes. Currently, there is an all bass cover of "Drippy Eye," which features Mike Watt , Flea , and K , along with a brand new Tobacco track title "Streaker." Check out the two tracks, [...]

Although a new Black Moth Super Rainbow album is right around the corner, main member Tobacco is busy continuing his solo game. Currently on tour for his latest album Maniac Meat , the audio/visual master is also working on some new solo material, evidenced by this new demo track. Featuring vocals from Beck and Jamie Lidell touring member Brian LeBarton, "Streaker" is basically an assault on the ears in the perfectly pleasing and head bashing way we've come to know and love from Tobacco. Certainly no official word on a new album or single, but here's to hoping it [...]

Black Moth Super Rainbow sent out an email earlier this week to all their fans enlisted on their newsletter that they are set to hit the road this fall after a 2 year break. Along with that good news, the group is currently working on their next record and have set up a Soundcloud page where they will be sharing demos and outtakes from their current work in progress and maybe some other unreleased stuff. Tobacco just recently tweeted that a new track "Streaker" which features Beck collaborator Brian LeBarton can now be heard on their Soundcloud page, [...]
