Pittburgh's Black Moth Super Rainbow will be releasing a new album called "Eating Us". The album was produced by Dave Fridmann and is expected to be released on May 26. Deluxe Editions for the album will feature "a hairy summer jewel case jacket". A press release for the album says that this is the "first fully hi-fi" record made by Black Math Super Rainbow and it "isn't an album about witches and woods." You can see the cover for the album above and the tracklisting below; you can also download an album medley of "Eating Us". [...]

We love Tobacco , but we love Moth's even more. That's why we're very excited by the news that Black Moth Super Rainbow has officially announced the details and release date for the follow-up to the amazing Dandelion Gum . Including an album MP3 teaser and the fact that manning the boards for their new record is none other than Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann . The pairing with Fridmann makes a lot of sense considering the fact that they could be [...]

First off, if you have not checked out Christoper Weingarten's (ex-ptw, ex- Parts & Labor ) new mini-review project Poisson D’Avril make with the clicking. Plus, you can twitter the reviews @1000TimesYes . His #44 review for the new Bruce Springsteen record: "The anti-808s And Heartbreak. Hard work pays off in life and love and DC. Dream, baby, dream.=8" But then I saw this tweet yesterday: "Bruce Springsteen's super-posi, sorta Wipers -esque Working On A Dream is out today!" I thought "sorta Wipers-esque", whaa? Upon re-listening to "My Lucky Day" I [...]
It's hard to think about Pittsburgh weirdos Black Moth Super Rainbow without thinking about the Flaming Lips. Both bands have a certain je ne sais weird going for them, and they've toured together . So it makes a whole lot of nonsensical sense for the Rainbows to draft famed Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann for their latest vocoder freak-a-thon, Eating Us , due out on Graveface May 26. A deluxe version of the CD [...]

Remember when Sesame Street had those weird montage clips from the early 80s about a dude sleeping on a train or a kid going to a printing press to make a "lost dog" poster? Black Moth Super Rainbow takes the vintage-synthy songs from those montages, adds some crazy vocoder vocals and puts it all on top of addictive beats that make your head bob. Check out "Forever Heavy" and "Drippy Eye" to get a good idea what this album is about.

oooooooohhhhhhhhh black moth super rainbow ! you really know how to do your thing live. it sounds soooooo gooood. its amazing how you sound so good live. i wish i was in chicago at the empty bottle the night you played this awesome set. i guess i'll have to be thankful on a bad trip was there to give me this. oh man, this setlist is sooo good! 01 ¿?(unknown) 02 sun lips 03 melt me 04 [...]

Uuri juutuubist. Esimest lugu soovitan eriti. Tobacco - Hairy Candy ( video Imeemis ) Tobacco - Backwoods Altar [...]

If someone held out a Black Moth Super Rainbow album in one hand and a mixed bag of psychoactive drugs in the other and told me to choose, I’d instantly pick the album, even though both choices can perhaps convey similar states. The music choice is more addictive and ultimately healthier. This band is my latest musical obsession that I can’t get enough of. So here’s my take on them and their last album proper; Dandelion Gum . Black Moth Super Rainbow … initially this band name sounds like a working [...]

*Bon Iver's Blood Bank EP is beautiful. *Welcome back The Hunches. I haven't heard their new album, but their old stuff is great. * "Seahorse" on vinyl=heaven. *Thom's remixes have been floating around the web for the past year and a half. *I'm interested in hearing the new North Mississippi Allstars album. They are playing this Thursday @ The Troubadour (Buy Tix) . They put on one hell of a live show. Download/Purchase - Insound or Amazon: Andrew Bird: Noble Beast [...]
Well hello there! Glad you could stop by! I know, it has been awhile since our last robotic outing, but I promise not to disappoint. First, let me say that this list took a lot longer to put together than the last list. It is extremely hard to find music ...

There is something about rural western Pennsylvania that seems to be inspiring some of the most innovative, and elusive, sounds to date. Leading the heavy beats is a man known only as Tobacco. For the better half of the decade he has been working under this moniker with various projects, and the past few years has seen him rise to cult fame dome with the electro-psych group Black Moth Super Rainbow . He is the man behind the ghostly percolated vocals and fractured instrumentations that give the band their unparalleled sound, and for Tobacco, it is his stamp on [...]
Tobacco (main dude from Black Moth Super Rainbow) released a solo album that is just as good if not better than BMSR's stuff. It's called Fucked Up Friends and it sounds like if BMSR made a hip-hop or dance album. It's fucking awesome. "Truck Sweat" is the second track off the album and the video is toooootally weird. Definitely contender for Video Of The Year. But, uh, it's kinda NSFW. That is, if your work doesn't allow dildos to be used as microphones.
Since i haven't posted in like 6-8 months I'm kinda behind on updating you with new music. Heres something that you might like......... For all those who dont know Tobacco is a member of the psych group Black Moth Super Rainbow. He released his first solo album recently called Fucked Up Friends, a soundtrack to his DVD of the same name. It sounds just like BMSR
Black Moth Super Rainbow's carcinogenically titled founder Tobacco has a new solo album out, Fucked Up Friends . You may have known that, but did you realize that he just released a whole slew of videos for different tracks from the album? We didn't either, until the fine folks over at XLR8R helped us see the light....and ninjas....and blood....and short shorts....just watch for yourself. "Street Trash" (above) "Gross Magik" (above) [...]

i've been listening to tobacco 's (from black moth super rainbow ) debut solo album fucked up friends for quite a while, and i can't help but feel this album sounds like the long-lost electronica cousin of dan friel 's ghost town . both are extremely short in length, comprise mostly instrumental tracks, and spend the entire album focused solely on developing a sound, rather than blossoming an idea. but while dan friel explores a peculiar kitchen blender meets neutral milk hotel sound, tobacco plays instead with analog synths and tape machines to create [...]
