It was an emotionally charged night as Jeff Castelaz celebrated the end of his 3,000 mile bicycle journey across the United States to raise awareness for the Pablove Foundation . The Pablove foundation was instituted in remembrance of Jeff's son Pablo who tragically passed away due to Wilm's disease which is a rare form of cancer. The Pablove foundation helps raise awareness of how cancer can affect everyone regardless of age. The evening was superbly hosted by Justin Meldal-Johnsen. Jarrod Gorbel Jarrod Gorbel had [...]

Filed under: The Hit List Plenty of bands have taken their names from film titles, but it takes a special kind of movie nerd to rock a reference to some obscure character or snag a favorite line of dialogue for their moniker. Here are 20 bands that probably still pay to see movies in the theater. Duran Duran Here's a shocker: The stylish, oversexed British New Wave superstars borrowed their name from an "erotic science [...]

For his part, the Radiohead frontman submitted the unreleased, exclusive solo [...]

In a perfect journalistic world, every review is either an unabashed rave about a life-defining record or a scathing pan, solidifying [insert band/album] as [insert hyperbolic insult]. That's how we want it - that's how I want it, anyway - black and white. Challenge me, that's fine, that's encouraged , but make it either good or bad, please. But, such is rarely the case. As anyone who's more than just a casual listener of music knows, records are rarely either astounding or disgusting; usually they're somewhere in-between. Such is the case with the new live set from [...]

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club . Playing live. Is so good that you: 1. You drag your as-yet-non-converted-rock friends to see this as their first rock show. 2. Get so swept up in the music you forget what the band looks like the next day. 3. The show is show good you wish they would end it just a tiny bit earlier so that you can make the encore and not miss the last subway home. 4. You miss the subway home anyways cause it's just too good. Their live CD and DVD, Black Rebel Motorcycle [...]
We can't make you care about making the world a better place; hell, if your parents or overzealous girlfriend can't, no one might ever. But you can be suckered into a noble cause. And just how might some dastardly fiend do that? Throw on a killer show featuring the likes of Band of Horses and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and kick all the proceeds to cancer kids. Like taking candy from a baby. The aforementioned show (with a heads-up thanks to TinyMixTapes ) is to raise money for the Pablove Foundation . [...]

You know, sometimes I can't really explain why I listen or don't listen to some bands. Right now, my latest example of a band I have no explanation why I haven't been giving more time on my iTunes would be Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. I had to have them thrown into my face before [...]
