Here it is, the lost installment that some of you were asking for. From now on, you could expect a new Hip-Hop playlist every first of the month. Anyways, this playlist was from our old site, and we'd like to thank you guys for supporting us since the beginning. Thanks, and keep spinning. ..... Dope beats, dope rhymes, this hip-hop sh*t really ain't that hard. Enjoy this playlist of some of my favorite hip-hop tracks. Don't be quick to judge what isn't on the list, since putting literally every good hip-hop song is impossible. Enjoy! [...]
While I am a fan of every track on this list, this is not a typical "best-of" or "KG's favorites" list. These tracks may not be the first bit of recognition the artists received, but each song I've chosen here has had an immense impact on the artist's career following the single. So think of this more as a "Put Them On The Map" list. [...]

We wrapped up 2011 with a list of our favorite releases from the year, and now it's time to turn our focus to 2012 and give you a list of albums that we are looking

Black Star performed the song, "Little Brother" , with the Roots on the Jimmy Fallon Show last night. (I'm going to link the video a lot because it's cuss-in-front-of-your-grandma good.) Afterword, ?uestlove explained why he loves the song so much and the story behind how the late J Dilla came to produce the beat. If you're on the fence, ?uestlove said this about the song/performance: "Scientifically this is one of the most intricate Hip Hop songs ever crafted. This was the greatest thing I've ever witnessed in my life." [...]

Talib Kweli using his influential voice to the hip hop heads out there and adding a nice visual depicting a picture of NYC and its people being held down. "Distractions" takes on the topics of war, oil, politcs, and a small problem known as the 99%. Get some knowledge.
This is another great story from Uncle Ahmir. ?uesto took some time out after Blackstar's performance on Late Night Jimmy Fallon last night to share the story behind the making of J. Dilla's beat for their song 'Little Brother.' I can't wait for the day ?uestlove releases his book. The posts on 'that site' alone are legendary enough. via NBC

Mos Def & Talib Kweli kept it classy for their stop on Jimmy Fallon's show, showing up in suits and performing the new track " You Already Knew " along with the Dilla-produced "Little Brother." The Roots lent their help for both songs. Black Star's free mixtape/tribute to Aretha Franklin (where "You Already Knew" will appear), appropriately titled Aretha Black Star , is coming soon. Black Star was the musical guest last night on Jimmy Fallon, and gave the crowd a little something new and something old. "You Already Knew" is their latest release, and is part of their forthcoming Aretha Franklin tribute mixtape. "Little Brother" is one of the oldest Black Star songs, dating way back. Catch them both.
Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) and Talib, collectively known as Black Star, stopped by Jimmy Fallon last night to drop some soul on em.

Black Star (Talib Kweli/Yasiin Bey) performs "Little Brother" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Jimmy Fallon kicked off 2012 in style last night with a fervent appearance by Black Star . Performing alongside The Roots (sort of a given these days), Mos De-err Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli knocked out their latest single, the Aretha Franklin-inspired "You Already Knew". While Bey always spits a solid rhyme, Kweli's lines felt emotionally charged. Together, they still act as a hip-hop enigma, which only adds to the already mounting hype for their long awaited followup to their 1998 debut. Or, their upcoming mysterious mixtape, Aretha . Until either release surfaces, however, check out last night's performance, [...]

Well, we all got to share in it as it was performed on live television for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
