On Tuesday, you can take your valentine to a great show at Neptune Theatre with Dr. Dog . On Thursday, the highly anticipated (and sold out!) Little Big Show is at the Neptune with local favorites Pickwick and Fly Moon Royalty , and the Constant Lovers are at Comet Tavern with guests Blood Orange Paradise, Baltic Cousins, [...]

The line-up for this years Sasquatch Festival came out on Thursday night and it is a pretty decent looking list. Even though there is roughly a -12% chance that I will be able to attend this year, I thought it would be kind to preview some songs from artists that I would be excited to go see. This is just a small sampling so head over to The Official Site for more info about bands playing and how to get tickets. Enjoy! Free mp3: Active Child - Hanging [...]

Encabezando la lista tenemos a Jack White, Beck, Bon Iver, Beirut, Zola Jesus, pasando por The Roots, Explosions In [...]

Black Whales have taken their hazy '60s inspired pop and put it in an acid-inspired video form for "Elephant No. 2." Black Whales are celebrating the release of this far-out flick tonight at Neumos with Koko and the Sweetmeats and Us on Roofs.

Hey, sorry for the disappearing act over the past few days. I was celebrating my birthday a little too hard and I fell off my bike on Saturday night. It was a stupid move so I guess what I was most thankful for this past weekend was that I didn't get seriously injured...just a concussion, gashed up forehead, broken nose and a lot of road rash. Here is my short playlist to describe my experience and how I am feeling these days. 1. Black Whales - Rattle Your Bones [...]

With a similar indie and folk rock infectiousness to their Seattle counterparts The Cave Singers , tied in with psychedelic pop, the occasional harmonica, and even a touch of country twang, Black Whales are undoubtedly on to something. Black Whales - "Rattle Your Bones" Their debut full length Shangri-La Indeed hit the net in late June, stay tuned as their buzz will break out beyond the west coast. Give the quintet a listen. Black Whales, out of Seattle, present a warm Americana rock sound on their newest album, Shangri-La Indeed . I've attached two of my favorite songs below, which differ in rhythm but remain the same in appeal. Which is high. I'm not really making sense. But Black Whales are way more organized with their music than I am with my writing; the sound indicates they've been around the block a few times and know what they're doing. Full songs, clear ears, can't lose. Black Whales - "Rattle Your Bones" [MP3] [...]

I whip my hair back and forth. Not because I am a teenage girl (although I sometimes act like one) but because there is a party. No, it's not in my pants. This party is in my ears, and soon it will be in yours as well. I am pleased to present to you The Indie Sabbath - more refreshing than an ice-cold soda in the middle of the desert. For me, music is the purest form of communication this world has to offer. I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. [...]

You can try and package it any [...]
