[Boddika a.k.a. Al Green] I recently learned that Boddika took his name from the bad guy in Robocop – 'Clarence Boddiker'. Given that his music is downright sinister and colder than ice, it is appropriate that Boddika has appropriated the name of a villain. On these two cuts from his upcoming release for Swamp81 , Boddika stays true to the stripped-down punishing percussion-oriented style that he has become known for... “My influences are mainly old school electro beats from hip hop and then Detroit electro producers such as [...]

A curiously deviant strain of techno known as “ Negative Rave ” has reared its sickly head in South Florida - and Miami-based artist Brad Lovett is dominating the scene with his one-man soundscape breakdown, Dim Past . He’s been enchanting club-goers for some time with his array of defunct electronic gizmos (that’s right – no computers), but on July 2nd Florida-based label Other Electricities will release his very first EP, Black Dolphin . This mix of dense, organic tunes merge house beats and techno style with raw currants of reverberating sounds, [...]

Heavens! While closely reading a fashion story of the Monocle's June issue, we noticed the Maison Kitsuné Classic Shirt with stripes, the white "Parisien" polo and the Oliver Peoples x Maison Kitsuné "Tokyo" sunglasses nicely featured! We're even more honored that the photographs of this man running through the city by bike and tuk-tuk in Indian sifted [...]

In just over three minutes, Salesman 's new single, "Horn", manages to shake your equilibrium. The song begins with Devin James Fry's plaintive warning: "There is a horn blowing here in my heart." Accompanied by a downright creepy bass line and drums that are as sparse and hollow as the rattling of bones, "Horn" achieves an almost mythic quality. Halfway through, the bass slinks to the background and the snare cuts through a wash of blissed-out guitar. We're on a journey here, and when the song finally ends with a spacey sing-along, we can only faintly remember where we [...]
Naturally, with a new recording of their debut single, "The City," it would only be a matter of time until The 1975 put out a second video for the track as well. Filmed in their trademark seductive monochrome, the video is a fine addition to the Manchester outfit's ever-expanding CV. Watch it above. You can catch The 1975 on tour this summer with The Neighbourhood. Dates here . STREAM: The 1975 - "The City"

If London songstress WALL is feeling any kind of pressure on her shoulders -what, with all the 'sound of 20132 attention that came her way over the last few months - then she's showing absolutely no sign of it. The title track from her forthcoming debut EP is another gorgeous ballad that tugs at the chest and prickles the skin. The lofi backdrop is perfectly balanced but it's the hypnotic, breathy vocals that once again steal the show, casting a spell over the listener from start to finish. For its entirety, Shoestring hangs by a tether, feeling like it [...]

It is one of the best bootlegs of 2012, in our opinion. Smov & Dedy Dread have added so many new sounds to this track, but still kept the respect of one of the biggest R&B tracks ever. It's a favorite on the dance floor, listen and you will understand why. Blackstreet, No Diggity - [...]
![Stream // Black Books ~ Aquarena [EP]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4748652_lg.jpg)
We've been long-time fans of the Texan five-piece Black Books since we first laid ears on them way back in 2011 , so much so in fact that we asked them to contribute a track to our first compilation that we released early last year. The band meld a heady mix of shoe-gaze, psychedelia and My Morning Jacket-esque jams and their brand new EP, Aquarena, is a wonderful return full of grin-inducing hooks and relentless passion. A couple of weeks ahead of its physical release, we're very pleased to be able to bring you a full [...]
The thing about all the ways that it's possible to listen to music these days is the paralysis of too much choice . We turn on Spotify some mornings and we're just overawed by the vast amount of music we can listen to. We bet a bloody great number of you have exactly the same problem - that's why you come and check out our curated Slaylists, right? They're the kind of thing that gives you just enough of a nudge to listen to new or unexpected things, right? Well, it seems Earache Records think that too, [...]
