Move over hardcore narcotics and fake Gucci bags-you may see truffles being peddled in the streets soon. Truffles are heralded as a rare delicacy in the culinary world, with prices averaging $6,000-$10,000 per pound! The value of this mysterious ingredient requires the use of a specially trained pig or dog to seek out its distinct aroma. Grub Street recently covered the dark side of the truffle trade after an expose aired on CBS. The evidence is clear-you best keep that truffle hidden out in them streets or it may get took by some [...]

![[Indie] Blackmarket – Blue Lemon](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3361619_lg.jpg)
Arizona rock trio Blackmarket are an all-too-rare example of a band with real connection and chemistry, and 'Blue Lemon' is the ideal example of this. From the off, this pop-punk track gives each member cause to shine, from singer and guitar-wielder Daryl Lamont's spectacular rock vocals to the powerful rhythm section made up of Mike Emerson and Langdon Chieffo. 'Blue Lemon' is a wave of nostalgia for anyone who misses the grunge bands of the 90s and a thrilling hit of rock for anyone else. 'Blue Lemon' is featured on the band's second album, 'St Vincent Decor', available [...]

You know, all things considered, I'd say America dodged a bullet because at least our head of state is only a non-America, socialist, nazi, communist. Kosovo 's prime minister is the head of a "mafia-like" Albanian group responsible for smuggling weapons, drugs and human organs through eastern Europe, according to a Council of Europe inquiry report on organised crime . Hashim Thaçi is identified as the boss of a network that began operating criminal rackets in the runup to the 1998-99 Kosovo war, and has held powerful sway over the country's [...]

Once upon a time there were two smart asses from California. They decided to make jerky, spunk pop. They needed backup though, as bass alone doesn't really constitute a rhythm section. But they moved through drummers at higher velocities than Peter Andre chugs his sordid way through the British celeb V-list, predominantly due to their irritating obsession with cracking sub-standard jokes even Baddiel and Skinner would turn their noses up at. Possibly... Those two arduous troubadours went by the names Keith Murray and Chris Cain, and played (and quite incomprehensibly still play) under the moniker We Are Scientists. Well, cut [...]
Given the volume of music available for consideration on One Track Mind, we invariably have to pass on a lot of tasty morsels. [tweetmeme] In a desire to share even more great, free music with you, the Sunday Sampler will offer a handful of tracks without the usual critical and biographical write-up. Less talk, more tunes: Blackmarket "Tongue Twister Typo" from St Vincent Décor [released 4/20 | indie rock] [ download ] [...]

When I listen to Blackmarket , I think one thing: is anyone in this band related to the Gallagher brothers? If so, that would explain a lot. For example, how dudes who couldn't possibly have come of age in the 90s have such a quintessential 90s sound. And if familial relations are good, it would explain how the band could afford such an over-the-top super-professional approach to recording and putting out their music. Perhaps a little backstory is in order, lest that sound like more of a slam than it should. This trio from Arizona got their [...]

Say you've got four lanes of traffic, all going the same direction. The far outside lane exits, the next one over has the option to exit or go straight. What the hell is that causes Miami drivers in the two inside lanes to come to a complete stop? During my commute I go through these traffic jams daily and I cannot, for the life of me, understand why it happens. Please, if you can explain this mystery, drop me a note. In other more relevant news, there turned out to be some pretty decent things in my [...]
