Really not sure how I missed this sweet new Tindersticks tune "Black Smoke" that hit the interwebs a couple of weeks ago. It's sort of a 60s throw back sounding tune with vocals that fit in perfectly alongside that sweet sax solo at the end. The new Tindersticks album, Falling Down a Mountain , will hit stores Jan. 25th in the UK ( via 4AD ) and Feb. 16th in the states ( via Constellation ). This should be another album to watch for in 2010. Download: Tinderstick - Black Smoke [MP3]

Το άλμπουμ θα λέγεται Falling Down A Mountain και θα κυκλοφορήσει στις 25 Ιανουαρίου. Το track που διάλεξαν να μοιραστούν ως πρώτο δείγμα είναι το Black Smoke . Αρκετά παραγωγικοί λοιπόν οι φίλοι μας καθώς εκτός από το soundtrack των [...]

The general philosophy here at Bag Of Songs is it's all about supporting the music and the musicians and it's always great to meet others who share that philosphy. Big thanks go out to Chris Johnson for tipping me off to this amazing event. The 2nd Annual Deep Blues Festival is musical labor of love that is all volunteer run and 100% of the proceeds go to the bands. Check out the incredible lineup of 45 bands happening over the three days. I've put together a random sample of just five of the artists for you here but [...]
Peepholes Genre: Wierd Electro Punk From: Brighton, United Kingdom The Devil recently received an EP from Brighton band Peepholes in a beautifully hand-crafted sleeve and it was love at first listen. Peepholes play music that only the late, great John Peel would be brave enough to play on national radio. There are four tracks of almost indescribable under-produced mayhem. First track 'Faux Feminist' appears to be about those glossy magazines [...]

Here's some weird stuff I found on the 'net: On John Lydon’s Web site, he's posted some free, downloadable audio tracks. What's weird is it's not the sort of music I expected. Maybe I haven't kept up with the erstwhile Mr. Rotten's career, but I expected something a little more, maybe PiL, or some live stuff from the Pistols v2.0, or something. Instead, these are various dance mix things. He claims some of this was sampled without his permission, but he put them on his site just the same. What's intriguing to me about these tracks is hearing [...]
