The Rassle - comprised of members from The Virgins, The Takeover UK, and Young Lords - sit down with Lauren Tischler and reveal the origin of their name, how technology affects their music, the band's interesting songwriting process, and their promising road ahead.

These guys reminds me of so many things at once - Kasabian, The Velvet Underground, The Strokes, Stone Roses, etc...They get compared to everything and anyone, the plight of the new act. I mean Lebron James plays nothing like Michael Jordan but during his rookie year the press wouldn't stop the comparisons, that's just the way it goes fellas, keep rocking. The band calls their sound a mix of "uptown soul and downtown swagger." I'll run with that. One of EMPT's favorite upcoming New York City bands, Blonde Acid Cult is bringing back that dirty New York City Rock & Roll [...]
Exactement pareil que le mp3 précédent . [Pour écouter sans télécharger, allez visiter l'article] Télécharger clic droit+enregistrer sous ( right clic+save as ) Les 3 autres chansons de leur MySpace sont juste terribles, passage obligatoire ! A band we've been really loving and playing on the station since last April, BLONDE ACID CULT , has a great feature story today on THE TRIPWIRE . Head over for a good read and listen to the band that loves their STONE ROSES.... alt=rss

Blonde Acid Cult are an RSL Cult Favorite. We shed light on this New York party band well over a year ago. But it wasn't until the latest CMJ Music Festival (BAC gigs that put the band on the bills with Ponytail, Crystal Antlers, School of Seven Bells, Moby and Holy Ghost! amongst others) that earned them a loyal following. (The Shake It Loose video shoot didn't hurt their prestige level, either....) As of late, Blonde Acid Cult have been playing private parties and special band [...]

Photos by Meg Clark Blonde Acid Cult is a rock and roll band. To describe their music as something more would do it a bit of a disservice. Take from that sparse description what you like, and you'll probably come up with one of the many bands BAC has been compared to - The Strokes , Stone Roses , Kasabian , etc. But in each of the band's songs, most listeners find a different influence and touchstone. And as they set to work introducing audiences to [...]
While it may not have seemed like it on the site, on a personal level, this week was particularly chaotic. On Monday afternoon, my pride and joy, aka my Mac Book, succumbed to a mechanical problem of some sort, requiring an extended stint at the good old Apple store. And of course, just my luck, the whole thing went down during a very busy week. Fortunately the rest of the staff did a tremendous job this week, proving again that there is no I in team. To celebrate, and help me forget that I still am without my [...]

Who : Blonde Acid Cult from NY. What : Hearing some great things about this band these days. Blonde Acid Cult are ' stealing cultural vibes from the best Stax Records and putting them in the blender with the suicide droning of the Stooges '. Below, they've pulled off a great Kasabian -esque jam I'm movin to. Song : Calypso .

So we got some mail from a fairly unheard of band based out of NYC. They call themselves Blonde Acid Cult and I can see these guys getting pretty big. They have that signature Indie sound similar to any of the great "The ______" bands out now, but they are still doing their own thing. If you like the track, go support them! They will be performing on December 2nd at Mercury Lounge in NYC. Blonde Acid Cult - Calypso.mp3 [...]

Blonde Acid Cult are set to release a new 12inch single soon and we have a track off that release for you. "Calypso" Mp3:Blonde Acid Cult - Calypso

Listening to Blonde Acid Cult brings so many things to mind at once, it's hard to find stable ground to start this entry on. Sure, they instantly remind one of a handful of popular bands...but is that a bad thing if they're bands you enjoy? Didn't think so. There's no doubt these lads are obsessed with the Manchester scene. Again, not a bad thing and certainly not a reason to write them off. It seems they've digested their influences properly and the product, while reminiscent, is very much something they can call their own. Visually, I [...]

Another weekend, another set of great shows. Here's the lineup. Parts of Swervedriver, Interpol and The Album Leaf join to create Magnetic Morning . Lead singer Adam Franklin seems to be everywhere, doing solo work, reuniting with Swervedriver and working with MM. They will be performing in DC at the Rock & Roll Hotel Friday night and Johnny Brenda's in Philly Saturday. Joining them is Springhouse . Also on board for the DC how is Julie Ocean and The Jet [...]
Thanks to the UI-Approved, must-see CMJ Marathon Artist Blonde Acid Cult , I've now got an unbelievably confusing definition of a vice. One of my favorite vices is trolling my friends' Facebook pages to see if they have cooler friends than me, then poaching their friends to be my friends. It's a system ThePerryTrain has put into effect in many areas of my life. When I'm at a friend's house I'll look in their fridge to see if they have better food than me, I'll check out girls on the street [...]

So Future Sounds is fortunate that it has over 400 of the best scouts in the world helping filter music, but one source that never ceases to deliver amazing acts, one after another is SUGAR BEAR . Sugar Bear has the golden ears, and this time he turned me onto two bands that I've been playing more than anything over the last week and I want to share. BLONDE ACID CULT [...]

Holy cow! Tonight! Metro Gallery has the CD release for Thrushes with Dead Leaf Echo, Sonadors, and Blonde Acid Cult playing too. Also in Baltimore, The Roots are playing the Pier Six Pavillion with Erykah Badu. In DC the Velvet Lounge has a great early show (2pm) with Appomattox, Imperial China, Len Bias, The prisoner's Dilemma, and Moscow Telephone, but they also have a great late show with New york times, Nerd Parade, and Koko. As for major acts, you can't get much bigger than Kanye West who is playing Missan Pavillion with Lupe Fiasco, [...]

CHOOSE AN ARTIST : THE JOKES ON YOU MUSIC LOVERS There are times when it's unfair living in Boston. Tonight is absolutely stacked in terms of live music. There are ten music events I would love to attend in the city itself (I haven't bothered torturing myself further by looking outside the Boston city limits at other local communities...) There's Jesse Malin at TT the Bears , John Brazile at the Middle East Upstairs , Evan Dando and the Lemonheads at The Paradise (performing It's A Shame About Ray) and Robby Roadsteamer [...]
