Jonas schreibt wieder in Blau , Matze in Rot . [...]
Two of my favourite bands from a few years ago were Blood Red Shoes and Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly. I got to see both bands in Cork in tiny venues (The Whisky, formerly the Blues Bar, and The Savoy lounge respectively). Since those days, Blood Red Shoes have made [Read more]

Blood Red Shoes have announced the release of new single "Heartsink", taken from their recent album 'Fire Like This', on August 16th.

Here is the brand new video from anti Ting Tings duo Blood Red Shoes. Remember we told you they put a call out for fans to appear in the video , can you spot yourself in there? Catch them playing numerous shows over the summer including Sheffields Tramlines fest & Reading / Leeds.

Blood Red Shoes are set to release their sophomore album, ' Fire Like This ', later this year. The Brighton duo are dropping the follow-up to 2008's ' Box Of Secrets ' on October 12 on V2 Records. The forthcoming album was produced by Mike Crossey and was record in Liverpool. The band have announced plans for a U.S. tour in support of the new album this fall. Dates have yet to be announced for the jaunt.

Though Blood Red Shoes have already released their sophomore album, Fire Like This , in their UK home, the band will have to wait until October 19 to get a proper stateside release on V2 Records. However, the US wait should prove to be well worth it, considering that the duo will also be stopping on this side of the Atlantic for a not-as-of-yet-scheduled tour.

Get reading: Blood Red Shoes know you don't need a whole string section to denote 'emotional', or a whole horn section to do 'rousing'. They know rock music doesn't need to be smothered in effects or laced with devious studio tricks to make an impact. There is another way, a way to make music that really resonates. It involves boiling songs down to their essence – just raw guitar riffs and drum hits presented crisp and unadorned. Blood Red Shoes are Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell. They are a rock band from Brighton, UK. [...]

Last week, I posted a Bryan Lee O'Malley and Edgar Wright-approved mixtape of full versions of the songs featured in recent Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World trailers, and now — thanks to Pitchfork — we have a full official tracklist for the film's soundtrack. Aside from Blood Red Shoes' "It's Getting Boring by the Sea," none of the tunes from the trailers made the OST, though they could potentially end up in the film itself. Take a look at the tracklist after the jump. 01 Beck (as [...]

It's been a while since I last mentioned the great music to be featured in director Edgar Wright's upcoming movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, and there have been a slew of updates to that end in the meantime, so let's recap: Original score contributors include Beck, Broken Social Scene, Cornelius, Metric, Dan The Automator, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Kid Koala, and composer/arranger David Campbell (Beck's father). And those are only the artists providing new music for the film. Previously recorded songs by the likes of Spoon, Neko Case, Uncle Tupelo, and others are rumored [...]

There's a website called TheSixtyOne.com that is a great resource for finding new music. I can't quite describe what the site/community is like because I haven't spent an incredible amount of time there, but so far it hasn't disappointed me. One band that I came across is Blood Red Shoes. They're a two-piece... kind of like The White Stripes except backwards: the girl plays guitar, the guy plays drums, and they both sing. I heard one song, then immediately went to their official site to find out more. The video for the [...]

Having been to Bristol and Nottingham respectively for the last two days it is now the turn of Manchester to stage this event of music new and old.

As far as one day multi-venue events go Nottingham's leg of the sixth annual Dot To Dot is helpfully localised (and helpfully dry, too). The eight rooms in use span five venues - Rock City, Nottingham Trent University and Stealth all have upstairs and downstairs stages - and only the Bodega is a significant distance away, albeit still walkable within ten minutes or so. For someone who usually ends up packing as many bands into a viewing schedule as possible on the offchance, it makes the plan of action taking potential demand into account a lot easier. As it happened, [...]

Psychofest poster A list of recommended events taking place over the next seven days in Dublin. Obviously this week's gig guide has been decimated by volcanic ash cancellations so no LCD Soundsystem, no Whale Watching Tour, no Grant Lee Philips etc so maybe expect a few more cancellations. In the meantime, Autechre is definitely going ahead (they also booked a ferry just in case) as is the all-day garage-rock, punk, no-wave Psychofest with likelys from Dan Le Sac v Scroobius Pip, Dropkick Murphys, IMRO showcase tour, Blood Red Shoes and Duke [...]
