Phone case maker Incase has hosted several bands in its itty bitty Room 205 Live series, for a series of web performances and videos. When MusicfestNW came around, they wanted to do something different, so they shot bands in front of an audience. The Impermanent 73 is the debut recording from WL , which features members of Blouse and Houndstooth . Death Party Records (home to Surf Club , Prescription Pills , and Yung Life ; run by Michael Avishay of Ghost Animal ) put out this 73 earlier this Summer. Yesterday, Portland's MusicFestNW wrapped up five days of concerts at over a dozen venues throughout the city. Among the acts who performed were Passion Pit, Beirut, Girl Talk, Dinosaur Jr., Flying Lotus, Swans, Fucked Up, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Wild Nothing, Purity Ring, and DIIV. WL - Impermanent Haven’t heard shoegaze this deep and rich in a while. This single is being put out by my bud Michael Avishay on his Death Party Records label. The warm souls over at KEXP dropped a previously recorded session with Portland’s Blouse late last week, adding yet another gem to their collection. The excellent self-titled debut full-length by Portland trio Blouse definitely counts as one of our favorite 2011 albums discovered in 2012. So we were more than pleased to get a mix from Blouse's Patrick Adams.
